The mate doing the work is an engineer who works from home so no name for workshop.

He has had the motor in & mounted up & even got the air conditioning compressor fitting on,
he is just doing some tweaks with custom hand made headers etc to finish it off.
I always feel comfortable with that sort person,.....you know exactly who's doing the work.

Perhaps, though I have my reservations about these so called private/backyard/engineers, what happens when a new crate LSA engine goes pear shape? I see plenty of backyard tuners even here on the Bluescreen that some people swear by!

bit bad not to recognise that on first viewing as we have been there (inside and outside of the palace) lots of times

We have all seen some bad work come out of big name workshops.
If your fan boi workshop fitted an engine that someone else had supplied I can tell you for a fact that they would not cover customer supplied parts.

The guy in this case is a semi retired, qualified & very experienced engineer.

He doesn't do retail work for just anyone, he is very selective of who he does stuff for & is only doing it as an interest.

As Pickles said, I would also much rather have someone like him work on my stuff than any random workshop.

We have all seen many epic fails from big name workshops & also some fantastic work done by some workshops

    some others you call "backyarders."

There have been a couple of "backyarders" here on the blue screen who I am certain you, & a fair few others would trust.

I can actually remember you recommending another backyard member to some people for transmission work & AWD conversions.

My "fan boi workshop", you really do talk some shit at times aye!
Do you have a thread/post # where I made this reference?
I know IJ did some work on Carltons VY Wags, though I did not recommend IJ to him.

Get it 100% straight, I was not knocking IJ in any way, I think he does some great work.

My point was only about your seemingly using double standards regarding people doing work from home.

You actually even told me to get IJ to look at my transmission in my supercharged car when it broke
& you made a number positive comments about his work as I have also made lot's of positive comments about his work.

I knew you would never get IJ to look at your trans, merely suggested you speak to him as you live in SA FFS!
I never knock a person who does their own "DIY" shit but when they offer their services without the correct Licences, ABN, Insurance etc etc that gets on my nerves, especially these backyard tuners that do wonderful tunes soo much better/keener than any shop!! Why is this?
At any rate, you have an Ol classic Vette with a shit Holley as you have NFI how to have it sorted or too tight to pay to have it done. The Quadrajet is one of the best spread bore Carbies made alongside the Carter Thermoquad as fitted to the Fords. You disappoint me mate!
