    Re: QIKMIK's Ride

wow, my first post in 4.5 years!

I followed this thread back in the day, loved your VT, would have been a sad day when she went! but now....yummo! THE BEST cars in the Holden/HSV stable the Senator Sig's...the best styling...:drools:

I did pretty much the same as you said you did Mick, however I put my old girl in the shed with no rego, got myself an old Triton D/Cab 4WD, moved to the country from the city and bought a house and waited....waited and waited....

3 weeks ago we purchased our new ride, a fully optioned SS-V Redline Wagon (2011) with 6000km's... I hadn't driven a V8 for 5 years, the Triton is a NON Turbo slug...and I have to say the 6.0 litre makes the old girls 5.0litre feel like a 4 banger! Can only imagine what your new girl feels like,,,, enjoy her mate!

Time for some porn thanks to XLR8V8. I have resized these to fit most screens so they don't have the clarity that the originals do but are stunning shots nonetheless.

    Enjoy!!

    Hey Mick

We parked up next to each other at Summernats (White VZ Senator) and shared some laughs at the Lerida Winery run, car looks sexxy as baby! and I can testify as to how good she looks in the real life

Hope to see you on the next club run

    cheers

    Re: QIKMIK's Ride

Finally decided to give the old girl a tidy up.

First things first. It's white so no 50/50 shots.

Take one MY09 Senator Signature, add 24 hours of correction, polish and seal, 4 hours of interior TLC, 2 hours on wheels, tyres and guards plus a couple of hours show prep and TADA!!

    Paint stage:
APC wash to remove old 601/105 and any other grit and grime.
Clayed all over with Dodo Gentle Grey and Born Slippy - seriously could have done the whole car without turning the clay. Even after 12 months, the paint was super clean underneath the coating.
All white surfaces corrected with Orange LC CCS pads and Menzerna FG500
All surfaces, including the black (which turned out to be single stage/no clear) polished with White LC CCS pads and Menzerna PF2400.
Finished off with a quick buff of Dodo Lime Prime using the Menzerna black waffle pad before sealing with my favourite Duragloss 601/105 combo.

    Interior:
All leather on seats and doors cleaned and protected with Duragloss Leather Shampoo and Conditioner - Mint leather brush and microfibre used for application.
Alcantara sections cleaned with Autobrite Alcantara & Suede Surface Cleaner - Mint leather brush and microfibre used for application.
Plastics cleaned where necessary with an APC premix and protected with Einzett 1Z Cockpit Premium

    Glass by Autoglym Fast Glass
Tyres dressed with Autoglym Instant Tyre Shine - applied then buffed with microfibre.
Wheels cleaned with Dodo Ferris Dueller.

Final wash with Dodo Born To Be Mild.

    Cheers,

    Mick

Not too bad, mate. Spent the first couple of hours drying the car. Highlight was this thing being started, warmed and revved...
