gotta keep some element of surprise about it. it's not everyday that you see a dead stock, faded white vk commodore.

some weight reduction to be had with removal of that tow bar

need to update your profile Adam... people might think it's the mighty VH!!!
Looks like it'll need a bit of an exhaust mod too. Seems to me that it sticks out a bit far at the back.
The wraps are a nice effect. Makes it feel like a new model unveiling. Can you do something with explosive glass a la VE launch? Is it EFI or carb?
Mick
Probably no exploding glass. It's hard enough getting a new windscreen for it.
I can tell you it is a carby motor for now. Black motor with the EST disconnected.
What the future holds depends on when the motor blows up. It could be a series of cheap 202s. Maybe an RB30. A V6 would be nice. But ultimately, I'd love to put in an LS1/2/whatever number they are up to by the time i can afford it.

Fired it up again this evening. The fitting to the carby has been tightened so petrol doesn't flow out onto the manifolds. The radiator is also back in,but leaking from the bottom hose. The lines from the trans are also hooked up now, so no more transmission fluid on the driveway.
Chris has set the timing as close as he can by ear, I need to get a timing light now to finish it off.
It was sounding pretty angry tonight, and at one point it was popping and backfiring.
I'll try to remember to take the camera round sometime and get some noise clips.

got the parts car today. might give it a roof chop for laughs when i have what i want off it.
windscreen - check
side windows - check
and - check
and more wheels for killing. although, i might clean them up and chuck em on the vs and see what they look like
and the two vks together.
I have to retract my previous posts. It turns out that the parts car is actually in better condition that the sedan. So i hereby present
DRGNWGN
It is a slight step away from B43Racing tradition, as i do hope to get it registered sometime. It will retain the full interior and a full exhaust system.
It fired up for the first time in an estimated 2 years on thursday night and did so with a nice cloud of black smoke and a bit of noise as the exhaust wasn't attached.
We've ditched the belts for the aircon, power steering, and the blower fan for emissions. The units themselves are still there.
The powersteering leaks big time, so we are going to run it dry for now. It is only getting drag action. I'll probably put the rack from the sedan in or find a manual rack.
The exhaust is already modified, with single muffler and slightly bigger pipe at the rear. With the extractors on, it should sound nice.
If all goes to plan, the car and I will have our drag racing debuts on the 26th of October.
I'll leave you with this picture.
