well we have both a calais v (6.0) and E1 senator (LS2) and the senator is by far a nicer car to drive, everything just feels better (not that the calais is bad)

The HSV tail LEDs and bumpers are pretty easy to get hold of these days if you really didn't like the rear end (like me). The only thing that steers me away from a GXP is the reviews pretty much can the suspension tune (again, easily fixed though).

The gxp tail lights are completely different to the other hsv's, they sit up top of the rear like the commodore sedans, also I thought the front of the gxp was exactly the same as the e2 clubsport?

I like JT have a 07 VE Calais V International (L98) as My Daily & a 08 VE HSV Senator Signature (LS3) & The HSV is just far better.

My Wife also has a 09 HSV R8 tourer Which is a fantastic car. When I got the Senator Dec 08 I also got her a New SSv Wagon. She only had it 8-9 Months before We upgraded to the R8 as it is just better. btw the insurance actually was a little cheaper on the R8 over the SSv We got a refund When We changed the policy over. Go the HSV you won't be disappointed.

Which is why I said bumpers aswell, meaning rear bumper to allow for the different light sizes...

Sorry read it wrong, so in theory the clubsport rear bumper will bolt up to a gxp rear?

So long as you get the rear lights aswell, happy to be corrected.

I'm prepared to say in theory it could bolt up to an Omega.

Unlike JHP who claim the e2/3 front bumper can fit any commodore (I guess if you don't mind the gap at the headlights and weird looking junction with the bonnet on s2 commodores).

Anyways, some people do go the effot (no car bashing guys, other than the errors in the add):
