Did yours come already painted ?

Mine was $50 for a coat of Poison Ivy when it was fitted.

I also have the MAF version of the Duspeed VE OTR on my MY09 Senator. Love the fit and finish of the Dus and the sound and power are great. The intakes are gloss black unless you request a colour from Dus. Contact him regarding pricing for the colour-matching however if you are buying new from Dus, give him a couple of days notice. Btw, I added the VCM Infill panel to keep the bay neat and tidy.

I have the VCM and much prefer the understated OEM looks of the black plastic as well as the side and infill panels. I'd have to agree it a pain in the arse having to virtually remove the whole OTR to clean the filter and re grease etc.

Also i have noticed that the main rubber boot between the OTR and MAF is beginning to perish and i do remember seeing that as a problem on this forum a year or so ago.
If i could and i may well just not know of but i would get the DUS if it was in the same plastic as the VCM.

I have seen someone with a matt black DUS OTR but I like the look of one painted body colour, especially with matching engine covers.

Again, performance between DUS and VCM is near identical, it just comes down to which you like the look of. Does the VCM use a paper (non-oiled) filter as the new DUS Mk3 does? With a MAF that addresses the last technical illegality because I believe oiled filters open in any way to the air are illegal.

From the OzAudi forums, Oiled filters are only illegal on turbo vehicles.

Happy to be put on the right track over this.

Had the original black colour MK1 on the old blue VE ute and didn't mind it . The new ute is silver and i'm not sure if i get it painted whether it will look a bit "too much " . So do the VCM infill panels key in ok with the Dus ? Got any pics ?

    Cheers

Well you"ve confirmed my original thoughts that the VCM looks good but is a pain to clean . I don't have enough time in the week as it is , let alone having to pull the OTRCAI out to get to the filter . Could be a reason why the boot is perishing .

    Cheers

I don't think so, the constant heat changes and movement from the engine would cause it, i have only cleaned mine 3 times so one would hope it's not that.
Like i said earlier though it was mention about 12 or so months ago, maybe they have corrected this by now.

Thought i might share my preference with the VCM OTR.

I had a Maf version fitted with all the infill panels at the start of this year, it does infact run a K&N air filter in this otr, I had a sealing issue with my first otr and it wasn't discovered until after a 4100km BNE to MEL round trip no damage was done and the seller was very quick and helpful to investigate, they replaced the Whole VCM OTR on the spot, i haven't had a problem to date (that i know of lol)

I'll take a snap next time I get a chance and throw it up in this thread.

    VCM or Dus Otracai

Same "close to factory" white as Wonky's setup I'd say.

Thanks for the Pics Mick , I've decided on getting the Dus with the Maf , but will hold off with the painting until i see it in the flesh . Maybe if i get the infill , i could get it painted at the same
    time .

    Thanks for everyone's input .

    Cheers
