Thanks for the reply Dan, bet you can't wait to have it running.
Hi Ed
Not much to report - Terry ordered the diff centre - Strange HD Pro.
Pretty much finished the front end - engine/gearbox.
Working on the inside guards - pushing them in a centremetre to fit the 275 racing tyres in.
I said to him a week ago that I wasn't in a hurry now. So I'm thinking we will be ready to race by Feb
Thanks for the reply Dan, bet you can't wait to have it running.
No worries Ed
That's for sure - I'm sure it will be worth the wait though.
UPDATE:
Now that Christmas/New Year is behind us, Terry will get back on to my car next week.
Hoping to have the engine running shortly.
Thanks for the update Dan
Looking forward to seeing more.![]()
Good morning and happy Monday!!
I haven't updated for a while, simply because there has not been much to report.
The cooling system is finished. Fuel tank being designed and fabricated. Rear guards still to be modified.
Challange at the moment is with the ECU and the powerglide - I want to race in the new True Street class and so the ABS has to be functional (no transbrake allowed either). The ECU is having trouble given the car was an auto. However, Terry knows a guy who has recalibrated a VF auto ECU for a powerglide so we should be good next week.
Why can't it be tuned setting the ECU as the car has a 6 speed manual?
I have been looking at fitting a T400 to my older 4 spd auto LS1 blown car
& my tuner told me the T/C & the ABS would work fine.

Yes there are, very easy to upset the canbus on an e38 system, they chuck a wobbly & refuse to play, especially so if the BCM is still in the equation, very simple if running an e38 no vats, though the op needs all operational. There are quite a few very quick VE's getting around with TH400 & powerglide transmissions in them.

Terry has a guy who can re-calibrate the ECU - it is with him at the moment. Should be back in the workshop next week.
