    Mercedes C63 buying

Any of you guys have first hand experience or insight into what to look for in buying a C63 besides the usual second hand car checks. Mate of mine is looking seriously, likely 2010 to 2014 for the 6.3 V8 in WA but may transport from east for the right car. Any pitfalls with the Mercs ?

A good mate of mine recently got rid of his, I think it was a 2013.

He had heaps of problems with it & everything cost a fortune to fix, he reckons it was sending him broke.

If your mate has to own one I would suggest to get it fully checked out by a proper Mercedes specialist not just any local auto club or other mechanic

These things can be financially brutal when they get a few years old & out of warranty.

100% agree. My wife has a BMW Mini and the costs for repairs, even things like brakes is crazy.

Yes, as prior posters have said, be careful, VERY careful.
We bought a new C63 with performance pack (extra 22KW, bigger brakes etc ), mechanical LSD in 2012, GREAT car, had no problems at all, but of course it was new.
Early 6.3 engines had head stud problems which raised issues later in the car's life, so I'd be going for a post 2012 model as this issue was rectified in later cars.
I'd be looking for a car with detailed dealer service history that has no gaps, & I'd be going for as low Ks as possible.
A great car indeed, a brilliant exhaust note, particularly upon start up,..wifey used to enjoy waking up the neighbors in the morning!
Good luck with your search, if you find a good one, it'll be a great car.
Most Mercedes Dealers have a good used car range, & IMHO they don't keep the bad cars, so you may want to have a look to what they have & charge, as a guide.
