My old lease car at Pickles

After dropping my ex lease SV6 off last monday at Pickles Canberra I have noticed it is up this thursday.

    http://www.pickles.com.au/cars/vehic...otid-402056561

Looks like i'll have to drop over and see what it goes for.

For any potential bargain hunters. be warned. The gearbox started making a large clunk as it downshifted to 1st as you came to a stop. and there have been the following repairs done, over and above normal servicing.

    1. front bar replaced after roo
    2. front bar replaced after roo
    3. both headlights replaced at different times due to above
    4. new passenger guard and all left side repaired after armco got to close
    5. rear bar repaired
    6. all rotors replaced

all in all, I got my money's worth from my employer's fleet company. Thanks T.

should add, not sure why they put the spare tyre condition as fair as the tyre has never been out. Might have to go and check it out, and if the tyre has been changed for a worn one I'll pass it onto fleet and let them chase it.

actually that car didn't do as many as forecast. I set the lease up for 35k a year but did 110,000 in the first year. I saw one of the monthly fleet reports during that time and my car was highlighted with all these warnings, excessive tyre wear, excessive kms etc. And the financial breakdown was good reading, in one month fuel was $1492, lease was $4xx, services/tyres was $4xx. My outlay per month was $1311

And here I was thinking the 60-65,000km/year (90% work kms) I put on my work car was plenty.
If I was doing as many k's as you I'd hate the sight of all cars and would join a "Contemplate my navel" forum instead

    Thats hilarious

But what's more amazing is the fact that you are still a car enthousiast. For me driving is like eating chocolate, its fantastic as long as you don't have too much. I do 10,000 km a year.

Re: My old lease car at Pickles

I think some people believe that if they buy at auction, then they automatically get a screaming bargain. So just bid without thinking much.

I recently attended a Pickles auction in Perth to try and pick up a near new Falcon for the missus, but left half way through because people were just frantically bidding big $$$ on crap cars (of all brands). I ended up doing a FAR better deal on a mint 1 owner 14000km unit privately for about $2000 less than similar 50000km fleet hacks were fetching at Pickles. I dont think I'll ever attend an auction again.

Re: My old lease car at Pickles

Today was the first weekday auction I've attended since pickles moved it from saturday. What I noticed was a lot less buyers than usual, and a lot more cars being passed in (and then announced as sold 10 minutes or so later)
A few bargains (fords mainly) went through but the price for my old one was a shock. I saw a youth with a few mates bidding on it early on but didn't note if he was the winner.

Re: My old lease car at Pickles

I dont think $15,400 is too bad a price for the vehicle...

    redbook values are:
    2006 HOLDEN COMMODORE

    VZ MY06 SV6 Sedan 4dr SA 5sp 3.6i
    Prices based on km 30,000 - 50,000
    Trade in price guide* $18,000 - $20,200
    National average price - private sale* $22,100 - $24,500

obviously its got higher km's...but even on carpoint the only comparable 2006 SV6 is one with 118,000kms on the clock at $18,450

we brought about 6 months ago a 2006 VZ Exec..ex cop car...for $15,300..had 70,000km on the clock.....just traded it in on the VE SS and got $15,000 as a trade....
