You should just be able to put the dash in diagnostic mode to give a readout of the fuel level voltage or litres remaining? Can't remember what it gives you but there should be something in there

Tried wacking the top of the dash? Always used to work when my VP-VR fuel gauges got stuck lol

Lol yeah I whacked the dash first. (that's my level of trouble shooting!). Being a calais, I have the three window display and therefore fuel use, distance remaining etc but the distance remaining is stuck the same as the gauge needle.

Sounds like a sender issue not a dash one

i have a kiwi 3 obd11 dongle and it doesent work with wifi on a S160 android ? , or blue tooth ? all so have a elms327 mini clone witch works now again it .
all works fine on my android note 8 though i would have thought there would not be much difference between Android ver 4,2.4 (note 8 ) and the S160 ver 4.4.4
im thinking of going to a USB wired dongle and connect it to the S160 in dash unit , so i can have all the gages up on the indash 8" screen and flick beetween GPS and gages Torque Pro is quite good for $5 if you load the external pids for your car
or put some custom pids in ( if you can find them ) Torque scan is a good plugin as it shows what pids are working and what dont ,the raw values is displayed beside the pid straight of the screen so you dont need a gage just for a quick look (simlar to efilive )

i only use it to show gages with TFT ,ECT ,boost ,Volts, AAT , IAT , Baro, rail presure , and couple of others in my PX ranger when im towing

lots of obd 11 dongles wont read differant phones and some conect and wont read the ecu ,and the cheap one i have only reads half the pids the $170 PLX kiwi3 reads

im just disappointed that the S160 wont read it ,and i have up dated the soft ware in the kiwi3 any ideas about the hard wire with the usb ? the S160 is compatable with WIFI/ BT /USB im thinking the low energery or BT 4 is the problem with the kiwi3 to S160

Sorry to dig up an old thread but thought it would be better than starting another.

I purchased this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Super-Mini-ELM327-V1-5-Bluetooth-OBD2-OBDII-Car-Auto-Scanner-Android-Torque-Pro-/251298954615?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a8295bd77 device to use with Torque Pro on Android.
My phone (S4) can make a Bluetooth connection with the device but the device will not talk to the ecu. The same as described in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ni-9lTgx_z8 I have tried it on my 2000 Clubsport and my 2002 WH Statesman with the same results.

So if anyone has bought an ELM 327 for Android from an Australian company/site recently and can confirm their device works properly could you please post a link to the exact one you bought.

Thankyou.

the dick smith ones and the jaycar ones are hit and mis to

First... Do the lights go on on the unit when you plug it into the OBDII port?

Next... Do you have the correct pairing code & does your phone find & connect to the unit on the bluetooth search & connect?

Next again... Have you tried pairing & using it on another vehicle?

or more so another phone

I have used mine on plenty of Commodores & other cars
but I can't get it to work on an Australian built Ford though.

did you load the ford specif pids ?

yes i did all the above it works fine with the 327 china dongle i contacted PLX and Roadnavi they bouth said BT 2 reader is not compatible with BT 4 but BT 4 will read BT 2 so my S160 is BT 2 as are most indash android head units so it wont worrk

As a newbie into data logging what else is required? Is there a book or website that helps evaluate the data?
