Hi guys,

I have this crazy idea that I want to drop an Adventra driveline into a Ute. Now from what I can work out it is all pretty much bolt in.

I will use the whole front end out of the ADW car and bolt it in as one. Then swap out all the wiring from the Adventra into the ute, so it will be the entire Adventra shoehorned into the ute Bodyshell.

The only thing I cant work out is the wheel arch flares. Front end is fine, I can use any number of combinations, Adventra, Coupe4, XUV or even cross 8. This will include the front bar, headlights and bonnet and such and the wheel arch moulds. Also will have to run the skirts under the doors off the Adventra too.

But this is where it all comes unstuck. If I am running the front wheel arch flares, I need to run them on the back as well. Cutting the 1/4 panel and putting in an Adventra style flare is possible, but the rear bar needs to be flared out to meet these flares as well.

no one I talk to seems to be able to offer any suggestions..... so I am thowing it up here to see if any of you have any ideas on maybe getting a custom rear bar made (where?)
or is it even possible to do the conversion without the wheel arch flares? Use wheels with less offset so that they do not stick out past the standard guards?

At this stage I am open to any suggestions.

Thanks.

have a look at this thread. might not be the same as what your doing but it was far from a straight swap over.

re body kit: if you give Jason a call at Velocityauto (google it) he might help you out. He used to own SVE where he did a custom bodykit for a crewman. He did sell the moulds but he might shed some light on cost involved in making th kit and who bought the moulds. (SVE - new owner still may have them)

My suggestion would be to look at the crewman cross8 rear bar. May be close to what you need. I know the front is the same as the adventra. In fact if you could find a cross8 you could use it as the donor. Just don't know what you could pick one up for. Like the idea though

Rear bar on the Addy is under the Factory Flare :)

Knowing what I know now about the AWD cars I'd have done a Coupe....

Thanks guys.

I thought about a Coupe. But I already have a Coupe4, so all I would be building would be another one.

I want the Ute so that it handles like the Coupe4 and I can supercharge the thing to make it go like it should.

I am even open to not having the body kit. Even though that wide low stance looks tough as. If I do not need the flares, I am happy to loose them to make the build easier.

Are the really required??

The right offest wheels you could squeeze some 235/245's under the stock guards on the front, stick with the narrow track UTE IRS and whatever will fit under a normal Ute will work fine :)
