Here is a story of right place at right time.
My mate had a promo vehicle for his work that was L98+harrop 2300+ built A6 Box that was due for trade in. Now why would you trade it in with all those goodies when I had a L98+turtle cover+ A6 stock?
Exactly what we thought!!! SO off we go from Brisbane to Phillip Island (where the guys from WA Improved Production were racing) chuck the standard on the car trailer back to perth and fly over to meet it there.
Basically in one day we are going from this :-

Dismantling begins....
1) Disconnect fuel line
2) NOTE for next time - Take off fuse box lid, undo centre nut, lift whole board/fuses up and unplug the whole engine wiring harness - saves undoing all the fiddly clips to injectors, sensors etc.
3) Undo gear selector underneath.
4) Undo steering wheel rod from top of box
5) Drop exhaust, undo rubber donut - tailshaft
6) Take off front wheel calipers
7) Undo top strut bolts
8) Take off front plastic bar and aluminium bar underneath
9) little bits and peices I have forgotten about (please resist the urge to tell me - lol)
10) Lift the car up and stick the forklift under
11) support the gearbox with hyd lift
12) Undo six sub frame bolts
13) Lower forklift and gently back away
14) Dump bog stock POS on ground like a discarded rag (lol)
15) Repeat above to remove blown engine but with care and love and then once removed take it outside to clean all nooks and crannies that you will never see again but at the time you are too giddy like a school boy to care or notice..
16) If you see a hole like this might as well fill it!!
17) Lift new one into place - gently, carefull - lol actually very easy we used 2x plain 3/8 bar up the holes of sub frame to locate it in body holes then locked in place with front 4 bolts. See how clean the back of the heads are?? Whooor lol
18) Connect the dots
19) Take it to WA Performance to tune it - (Shameless plug - but credit where it is due!)
20) Smile at the result
21) Oh is that the Nullabor Plains? Is it a great big long straight bit of road with zero traffic on it??
22) Back in Brisbane - last 800 kays did all the damage (stone chips, hit extractors and zoorst etc) courtesy of the NSW state government road dis-improvement program (sorry but OMG to travel 2000+ kays incident free and then cross into NSW and bang)
23) Washed, polished, waxed and in the garage!
