    Re: The WonkyUte (SSV)

Hopefully I’ll remember to answer all the questions …….

Firstly, the pics above at Chev’s were done with the four SSV rims in the back, hence how low it looks. Big Rob kindly took them out for me yesterday before I headed back up to Black Diamond’s store and it didn’t scrape once! Once there Dean did a perfect job of rolling the guards for me so should be no problems now. It had only been catching in one little area but I asked him to roll the guards to the max (as I had done on the sedan too) to avoid future problems as my wife will occasionally use it for hay etc..

I got to feel the DOD/AFM in action yesterday. First time it cut in I wasn't thinking about it so wasn’t expecting it. There was a very slight muted thump, almost as if I’d run over a small catseye lane divider, but then I twigged as to what it was. It only went into AFM mode a couple of times and there is a very slight vibration through the drivetrain when it is – the sort of thing most people wouldn’t notice but definitely there if you look for it.

Speaking of fuel economy I have been amazed at how economical it is, especially for a new motor (only 150km all up and no doubt not running on 98 as the salesman very kindly filled it for me from their own pump before I left and I'm sure it wouldn't be 98). In the sedan I’d need to typically average around 50kmh ave speed to get under 15l/100km. Yesterday when I checked after 100+km usage since I reset it the average speed was 47.6kmh and mileage was 12.2l/100km! AFM is not responsible for that as it has probably done 1 or 2 km at most with that in action. Maybe it’s because I can't hear the exhaust so am not tempted to put my foot down just to hear that beautiful KPM exhaust (new KPM 3” full system ordered and should be on in a week or two ).

A couple of little things I’ve noticed – the triple dash gauges in the SSV (with numerical readings as well) are an improvement on the original twin gauges. Still could be improved but not as bad. The Mute button on the radio is much more effective. On the sedan you could have the music at mid volume (comfortable listening) and when you hit Mute you could still hear it in the background. In the ute you can have it fairly loud but when you hit Mute you can no longer hear it!

Offset on the rear rims is 45p HRT.

Mike, not sure what OTR I'll use this time (whoever gives me a freebie ) or whether to bite the bullet and go mafless.

What badges will we make to replace the AFM?
    Just let me know
Actually, Jason (S2VYSS) had a great idea yesterday - replace the badge on the right hand side of the tailgate with a WonkySSV one, but straight this time rather than curved for the contour of the windscreen. What do you think?

    Looks fantastic Gary.

Looking forward to seeing it in person (don't get your hopes up, i am talking about the car) and hearing it with the new Zorst etc.

The remote lid and tailgate sound fantastic.

    Re: The WonkyUte (SSV)

Thanks bouka and thanks for putting me onto your salesman! Full KPM 3" system with Ballistic cats should be on it next week some time. Hopefully it will sound even deeper than the sedan did and it was bloody deep! I'm really looking forward to getting it all set up with hardlid, actuators and remotes.
