    Re: The Ute Gallery

G'day all, have owned my SSV ute for nearly 18 months now and still love it as much as the day i picked it up. Was ordered with auto, tinted windows and walkinshaw springs. Have added a HID conversion kit and thats about it, other than keeping it spotless (well, as best as you can for a daily driver). Is such an improvement over previous models i've owned. Still happy that after 40000kms it still has that 'new' feel. It brings a smile to my face every time I drive it.

    Re: The Ute Gallery

Thanks to the stainless steel welding skills of Cam (AMADSS) the original tongue and slot hinges have now been changed to normal barrel type hinge arrangements and Big Rob at Chev's was able to change the control unit operation so that one press on the remote sets the lid in motion and one press sets the tailgate in motion. We didn't want that while the original hinges which came with the hardlid were on there as the very first time we tried it the tongue came right out of the slot!! Not nice.............

Now I can set the lid going up and tailgate going down even before I've stopped and of course can set off again while they're still closing if I really want to! No doubt that would get some strange looks!!

YouTube - Lid up and gate down together

worknssv reckons they're so good that he has just ordered a set for his ute too! I expect to eventually see lots of utes with them!

I have red VE SV6 ute. Rear lowered, sports antenna, ss inductions other than that pretty stock at the moment.

At work can't upload pictures and don't have net at home. So unless I have another option have to use your imagination.
