come on people u are not cool if u dont have an iphone...lol
i personally have the HTC Sensation (also an android device) its very similar to the samsung galaxy s 2, i got it from us before it was released in aus and locked to telstra.
but hey if you want to be cool and pay for most apps and all the other itune junk then get an iphone.![]()
Had em all! I tend to change phones way to often!!! within 4-6 months.
Currently got a SG2 and best phone to date!
Have had all the iPhones etc... and sorry... but iOS looks so outdated now!
Android all the way
Cheers,
Adrian
you cant go wrong with a iphone4 or wait for the iphone5
i'm a old school nokia N95 8gb owner still
wow mind blowing will sit back tonight and re read from start,
I dont do music etc for my phone, lol i dont even own a ipod
i ring text take a pic, do the net a bit
I am worried about the old broken sotries i hear with Iphones I also heard Samsungs are more durable, as a guy hats throws his phone in his pocket and goes, Im worried that aint a good thing with Iphone I dont carry a handbag and will not be babying them lol
Thanks
for all the feedback look forward to reading this when I get home more
If you want a phone that allows you to use it however you want, SGSII.
If you want a phone that allows you to use it however they want. Brings out revolutionary features that have been standard on most other phones for years and asks premium price for it, iPhone.
i was in the same position you are about 6 months ago and i use a phone for the exact same things, very basic. I got an iphone 4 just because the Mrs did and it was a bit of a novelty and at first i regretted big time because they are so much bigger than my Nokias and the touch screen was something i was not used to but now i've got used to it im happy with it and have no problems and get good service even though i live in rural NSW. I looked at the Galaxy 11 because of all the good reviews but after holding it in my hand i knew i didnt want it, they feel huge and not like a phone at all. there are so many things made for iphone its not funny and it's just simple & easy to use and it sounds like thats what you want.
SGS2 100% Samsung, Iphone 35% Samsung + high rate of sub-contractor suicides.
As for the court case, Apple were sprung editing their photos and graphics, so it has next to zero credibility.
I'm waiting for the S3, but I can't really justify tossing my 5 yr old Nokia as it has nothing wrong with it.
I couldn't be bothered reading through this thread besides the first post.
But without getting technical with terms etc
Both phones have almost all the same apps etc.
The Galaxy is a lot more powerful phone.
If you choose iPhone you have to be with Telstra because the other networks don't support its bandwidth... yes it will work on other networks but the internet speeds (mobile data) will be severly decreased.
In my own opinion, Andriod phones are a lot better. I have owned the iphone 3gs and 4 and have imported a HTC Desire running andriod I will never ever go back to iPhones, since than I have upgraded to the HTC Desire HD because I loved the phone so much.
Also this isn't just my opinion check out the market share.
If yo want to research it more I would advise you to not even bother with asking on this forum head over to http://www.whirlpool.net.au/ they will be able to aswer every question you could possibly have and more.
samsung galaxy s II for sure there screen is so much more durable ive seen so many iphones with cracked/broken screen its not even funny and never once seen a broken screen on a SGSII and hopefully my SGSII shows up to me today/tomorrow so wanna play with it lol
I don't really think its a fair fight at all...
The i4 is an outdated piece of machinery now. It will be a lot slower when you're comparing it to dual core phones. Certainly not sticking up for them though. I had a 3G when they first came out and were a 'revolution' in smartphone design. But they haven't changed enough to keep up IMO, only gotten ridiculously popular because of their simplicity.
Out of the two, I'd get the Samsung.
If you're leaning more towards the iPhone, then as has been suggested, wait till the i5 comes out (predicting next week/month). If you're open to all phones, I'd get the HTC Sensation XE when its released next month. But they are quite big phones.
End of the day, any current gen phone will do everything you want it to.
The GS2 is a large phone, especially when you put a case on it, which I always recommend doing. None the less, the other major advantage of Android is choice, so there are heaps of other options out there if the GS2 might be too big.
My Iphone4 has been to hell and back. Part way through building at the moment and juggling my day job. Nice phone to use but just a bit delicate for non-office environment. Home button playing up on it (don't get it wet!), rear of case cracked - have no idea how. I have a cheap plastic case for it with one of those stick on plastic screens and I recon this has saved it from the worst.
cheers,
Gav
Its only a bees dick bigger then a iphone 4.
I just went from a iphone 4 to a Galaxy SII and it is easily the better phone, might take a day or two to get used to using it and its a bit of a bitch to transfer contacts but other then that im extremely happy with the change.
I "upgraded" from my iPhone 3Gs to a Samsung GalaxySII......
Here are the facts from my experience, I am not biased to any phone this is just what I found:
Cons:
*The Galaxy SII is bigger than the iPhone4 (Regardless what the fanboys say its harder to hold up to your ear and while texting)
*The Galaxy had WORSE reception on average than the iPhone (Vodaphone network)
*The Android Network has far less applications
*You will need to go back to Tafe and get a Degree in IT to operate it... Im 23yo, I game online, have built Pc's and still had trouble
*It only alerts you once that you have received a text (and quietly) I often didn't realize i had a txt till hours later.
*The whole contact database, setup, adding numbers etc is a mid****...
*Battery life is poor
*Using it as a mobile hotspot i had worse coverage than the iPhone
Pro's:
*The Galaxy runs smoother than the iPhone
*The camera is better
*You can drag and drop files without using iTunes
*The Gps is amazingly good
*obviously more powerfull with the Dual core
I was so disappointed in the Galaxy that i swapped it for a 16gig iPhone4 and couldn't be happier
AT the end of the day IMO they both do much the same job, but the iPhone is 100x easier to use day to day and it doesnt lack anything you will actually use
There are too many fanboys around here to get a straight answer, it is personal preference but, I had a galaxy SII for a month and hated it.... I dont like Apple, The iPhone worked better for me
