I still see no point in iMessage..
95% of all plans these days give you unlimited texts anyways.
iMessage is nothing new. It's just yet another chat protocol over TCP (internet). Same as-chat, facebook-chat etc. It will NOT allow you to send SMS for free. You'll still have to pay the data charges. If you're going to do that you may as well use a protocol that's already established.
The trick is in converting people to use it. MSN has a big following and doesn't necessarily mean Windows, I'm on linux and find most people still chat using the MSN protocol. Although MSN chat on phones tends to be clunky and lack of good offline/delayed messaging means it's still only an "instant" messaging system.
Facebook probably had the best chance at it (as facebook chat and facebook messages are actually the same protocol now), but probably shot themselves in the foot by not emphasizing mobile integration and all their recent security issues.

Dual core not really needed yet, as the WP OS is streamlined and not bloated, and at each revision code is tweaked and rebuilt for efficiency.
Android is heading down the old Windows Mobile path IMO, fragmented and bloated already after a couple of years is not a great sign. Quad core phones being developed to make it run faster, is a bit like the Old MS standard of just upgrade your PC.

Funny, most people I know with an iPone use someform of MSN client to talk with me - if they were to soley use iMessage, they cut themselves off from most of the contact list - pretty useless IMO, but if you only had iPhone friends, then maybe it is a selling point.
As for cloud storage, I have access to the internet on my phone, therefore, I have access to all the music I could ever want for free. Why anyone pays for music in this day and age is beyond me?

No doubt his decision will be so much easier after reading this thread!

Hmm...
You couldn't have said it better.
Want an everyday phone/car get the iphone/Ford and use your phone and car like a boring everyday person.
What a high performance phone/car get the Android on Samsung GS2/GTS by HSV and talk on your phone/drive your car like SENNA(but you might have to learn how to get the best out of it!)

For me its an easy decision
Galaxy S2 - $45/month
iPhone - $60+/month
Why would you pay more? Oh thats right, imageSome ppl have to have the latest and greatest
I went through a similar decision recently and couldnt justify spending an extra $20/month to buy an iPhone when I could get an HTC which more or less has the same features
I see little point in going on about how the iphone can do this and android can do that. There are very few functions that are limited to one side now. Both can sync to the cloud, both have obdII scanning, both offer full control of, and streaming from, any pc via the Internet. The one area that android falls short is the docking, but Le Goog is working on rectifying this through a micro usb port or similar standardised port so that anyone can access it without paying licensing fees like they have to with Apple. For the vast majority of the global population it comes down to hardware features and user interface.
Also, just to clarify, the move to dual core processors is not specifically to run the operating system due to it being 'bloated' and 'fragmented', it's to run more powerful functions like high definition video recording and high resolution screens. The screen is often overlooked as a power consumer aside from the lighting and touch input. The more individual pixels there are to control, the more processor power is needed to animate it. Smoother OS function is an added bonus, which is undeniable.
