This thread is only about "look at me, my daddy has lots of HSVs" & daddy still has no sway over HSV.

all i can see what this thread is really is achieving is singling out on individuals who have on opinion and not keeping on topic, especially from a person who supposedly runs a business, not a very professional way of conducting themselves

See post #32 which explains why!! I was of the same opinion till I realised that.

However, XSNRGY, no real point in continually dragging up so many ooooooooooooold posts which basically it seems almost everyone is ignoring your responses to because you are so far behind and the discussion has moved on. Much more sensible now to continue reading all posts, take notes of things you'd like to respond to and when you finally reach the end of the thread, collate your responses, ignore those which have already been answered in similar manner to how you'd like to respond and make all your responses in one post. Please???

PS With a bit of effort you can even trick the system into doing its quotes properly.

288vxgts300 QUOTE: So i,ve got a VX GTS,which has the callaway engine,i feel its a bit special, mainly because its had special treatment, someone has worked on it a bit more than the run of the mill engines. QUOTE.

Look I dont want to rain on your parade mate and I would have loved a VY GTS but the C4B was a crap engine really.
Rattly, oil burning, cam wearing, valve spring breaking rubbish.
Only when the later ( VY ) valley cover breather model ( opposed to the rocker cover breathers ) came along did that stop but the other probs still plagued it.
Had a friend buy a very low km's in storage VX and he had nothing but problems.
Run rough as a pup, thirsty on oil and gas.
Changed leads, plugs, O2 sensors and even thought the MAF was crook ( hooked up snap on scanner ) only to find they are MAP'd, LOL.
Anyway he took it into a Auto Sparky.
They had it for a whole day, cost him a fortune.
All they could say was, "yep theres a little more oil in the intake than there should be".
Needless to say, "out the door she went".
    Shame....

Ooops... Ive just got to the bit where you found out that already...my bad...have to read quicker.

    Nailit QUOTE: Look at it like this . . . A GTS is $90K RRP in man with basics . ,. . add another $15k . . . get a good deal . . . and whammo. . . there you have it!!! . . . under $100K. QUOTE.

    I'm sorry but when does 90k plus 15k equal "under a 100k" ?
I must be getting tired, do you know how long 34 pages in one sitting takes to read

Martin D QUOTE: A stripper VE weighing in at sub 1650kg with LS3 and a stick shift
Its something we have all been waiting years for....if only they would make such a thing
Notably most of the serious manufacturers make a motorsport version for clients. Subaru with Spec-C, Mitsubishi with EVO-RS, Porsche with GT3RS, Nissan with GTR Super Taikyu, even Chrysler with the ACR. Not Holden or HSV, which is why you never (rarely) see these cars at track days, which is also a shame and a genuine reason why these cars are losing their cred on the road. QUOTE.

Didnt someone make a low volume race car for Barain or Shangai that was a stripped out and slightly tweeked Commodore?

My conclusion,........ I have never read so much B/S on this Forum before.....everyone posting their "two bobs worth", some saying HSV are watching this thread....AND THEY WELL MAY BE....but if ya read all the endless ra ra ra contained here over what...30/40 pages, & think HSV would take any notice of this absolute "DRIVVLE"....then, tell me what ya smokn'.. I want some of it. Guys, THEY WOULD BE LAUGHING THEIR TITS OFF!
Some people say that some people "believe their own B/S"....this thread is a prime example.
But, I shall continue to "read", & "wonder", & be "amazed".
    Cheers, Pickles.

Re: Does HSV understand its Market? - Part 2

Why would u spend 90 k on a gts when u can spend 30 k on a ss that will go faster look better and noticed more if u like hsvs mods fair enough but I think there's people at there that can mod cars better then hsv at a better price that's why I wouldn't buy one

That maybe but if HSV gave us that option then maybe people wouldnt opt for a cheaper SS and go to Mr Tuna to have a copy of a HSV, which in turn probably helps bring down the price of HSV's?
