who does this kind of work in melb (pref north east) at good prices?
thinking about getting some wheels painted / powder coated
on that topic, whats the pros/cons of paint or powder coat and is there much price difference? what should i expect to get 4 wheels done
the problem with common sense is it's not that common

I'm SE suburbs if anyone knows someone that side of Melbourne
Wrong area for OP however A Class Powder Coating in Moorabbin do wheels. Have been happy with the jobs they have undertaken for me (not wheels). Web page is crap but there work is not.

Neway wheel repairs or wheel solutions in Richmond, both have a very good rep also Racepaint in Braeside.
About to check out Wheelworks in Dandenong to repair and repaint a rim. Have been quoted $170 to re-roll and weld a crack on the inside lip. Shadow chrome painting $250...ouch!
Also check out Advanced alloy wheel repairs, 3 Nellbern Rd Moorabbin. I will go on the books and say they are the best there is.
what are the pros and cons against painting and powder coating?

I had my rims repaired and painted by NEWAY WHEELS and they came back looking like a 10year old had got his hands on the spray gun, shit all through the paint and crows feet on the plastic caps
So basically im up for new rims. Very disapointing after spending $285 per rim.
Cant believe these guys can call themselves professionals, bunch of farking arrogant carnts
what did they say when you told them about it?
any reason for the mistakes? any offers to fix them?
the problem with common sense is it's not that common

Im in Brisbane, had mine powdercoated 18months ago and am still happy with it. I got the yellow pages out and rang heaps of places. Prices were, up to 150 a rim but ended up paying $40 a rim with a coat of clear. Seems pretty resilient, gutter chipped one but it was a hard hit. Happy with them.
Something to look at is a product called plasti dip, just done the rims on my wife's car, stuff is cheap, reversable, can be patched without seeing where, hides small gutter rash, And is very easy to do, search you tube, heaps of info, if ya looking for some to have a go, I can get the stuff easy, just pm
