I went for a quote with Lumley special vehicles and they asked how often I drove it and if I wanted a km cover type thing.
Hi guys,
As my Monaro hardly gets driven I was wondering if anyone knows of an insurance company who will insure me for driving it on occasion. I tried youi and their quote was over $3000 which I though was ridiculous.
It's currently costing me approx $1400 a year full comp with Just Car and I'd like to reduce that if possible
Cheers

Good question, I would be interested in a better option as well. I have mine on a reduced policy with Shannons and it still costs me about $800 per year. Car gets driven roughly once a month. Insurance and Rego seems like a huge waste of money sometimes. I guess it is the price you pay for having a hobby car.
Mine is with Shannons on a limited km policy. I haven't looked at other options for a year or so now though. Could be better deals around.
Your age is the defining point to this question. Doesn't matter how good a deal some places offer people, many simply wont touch people your age with a Monaro.
If people can tell you whether they will insure 24yo's in their answers it might assist you more greatly.
Let me know the result you go with as I'm
In the same boat, 24 with a blown, cammed, cooled Monaro that I drive once every 2 months or so! Gonna try lsv
GM: Has millions of dollars and highly trained engineers.
Guy in his backyard: Has a hole saw.
Shannons, they reduced my insurance as the car gets driven a couple of times a week, they also reduced it when I paid my car off and there was no more finance on it.
Im also interested in this, What type of reduction in premiums are you guys getting?
I have mine insured for $70K, the yearly premium is a touch under $1K, Im with AAMI
ill be going with shannons at the end of this month, they gave me a quote for $900 (full comp) for 2 cars my vz ss with ls3 conversion + all the goodies (agreed value of 40k) and my daily ford, im 21
my 06 clubby is with CGU I have low kilometre 10,000 or less per year with mods $616.92 includes tax & stamp duty
Sounds pretty good to me. If i can get it down to $1000, that would be perfect. I'll try Shannons and CGU. I turn 25 in May as well so hopefully that'll drop it a little more. I was thinking of selling it but I just don't have it in me to do so.
i have my car ute bike my house and contents all with shannons they look arfter me well if that helps
