Microsoft Office is shit because I can't open Excel documents in Word![]()
Vulture, you need to calm TFD!
Microsoft Office is shit because I can't open Excel documents in Word![]()
some light reading:
Should work from 2003 to 2010, but 2010 and 2007 might have different methods, but a quick search should find you answers.
hope this helps.

If you're always early, you can never be late.
there was sarcasm ... however it also highlighted that this issue was obviously an issue for some, and has been addressed after years of development
Callanders entires are piss easy to synchronize. What are you using because exchange is fully supported in ios. I personally use gmail but through exchange m..com. My mum uses exchange for work at a university which has an OWA client for at home use. I cracked that shit off and set it up using exchange on her iPad. Works awesome all her contacts, Callanders and emails all sync perfectly and push instantly. Even invites work perfectly when you want to share a cal entry with others.
Well i have 4 email accounts.
1 exchange
1 Hotmail
1 pop3 from my ISP
1 Gmail with the.
My wife has 2, 1 hotmail and here exchange for work, but does not sync her contacts or calendar with exchange because of the restrictions on the education system, as in .gov.au.
She syncs her phone to outlook on the home server then i copy the contacts from there.
But it is more about calendar entries for us, we used to be able to just bluetooth entries, now we have to go through outlook, bit poor in our information age.
for contacts I must get her to install a barcode scanner to see if it will read that as i have found it works very well and you can exchange info on flights where you are not allowed to use bluetooth. I hope it works with an iphone, i know it works with Android, HTC, Windows and Blackberry.
I do exchange all this info with iphone users on my network through exchange, in fact i get emails, calendar & contact entries on my phone before i get them on my PC.
I know there was an iphone app that installed full bluetooth intergration but it was over $50, just not worth it.
Did they add full bluetooth funtionality on ios5?
My wife had so many problems upgrading that i am staying out of her way with the phone stuff for a while.

Hotmail now uses active sync, actually it was about a year ago. The server is m.Hotmail.com. So there is your full exchange capabilities for you and your wife for syncing cal, contacts, email, even reminders is supported
Your ISP one being pop based your screwed. But what I do is have my gmail account collect all my ISP email for me and push it.
If you can access your wife's contacts on exchange at home you will be able to on her phone too.
Bluetooth capabilities were added in ios5. But not the services I think your after natively. Bump is a good Bluetooth app for pushing data around between users. Persoanally I never use it anyway. Email is more flexible and exchange will work for you too with the providers you have. iOS handles exchange very well. That's one reason why they are more popular in corporate environments than android and fast replaceing blackberry.
O and you can use Bluetooth on flights. Even wifi. But if you just use exchange for invites it will push them across as soon as you see the cell network again

Any rumours on the i5 getting NFC (Near Field Communication)?
Even better than bluetooth. Has a lot of possiblities if they let apps like Google Wallet work over here
Basically we have a workaround for most things, i use hotmail but not sure of the top of my head how i set it up.
but i do get the emails from all my accounts on my phone, I get Calendar from Gmail & Exchange, and i get all my contacts from exchange only.
Bluetooth & Wifi are not avalable on all flights, at least the ones i fly with, I know it is starting to become available but have not seen it yet.
I got bump but the wife does not want to get it, i have a bit of a road block there.
She gets upset that stuff does not work but does not really want to change anything![]()

Not at all, I have two Android devices and have bought more over the years. I just don't think they are as polished. Simple as that. I enjoy using them but not as much as my iOS devices. You need to remember that for every person who will debate these things on the internet there are probably more than 100 (a 1000?) who just want to buy a phone and have it do the vast majority of mobile device stuff with minimal fuss and need for 'customisation'. That doesn't mean that they are inferior people, it just means that they usually have other priorities.
So why not have the one app do it all?
Who's not calm?
Everything in moderation, including moderation.
There's a couple of fairly simple reasons the Gmail app and Email app are kept separate.
1. Scope creep. The "One App to do it all" idea is all well and good, but eventually you end up with one big huge mess of an application which does way too many things. On a small mobile system it's just not practical. Imagine if facebook messages were included (since it's like email), but then the facebook IM system runs off the same back-end so add that, since it does IM now why not add-chat and MSN? and AIM and IRC etc.etc. As you can see, there's no end to it. The line is drawn clearly where standard email protocols end and "extras" like Gmail begin, but you can still add your gmail account into the standard email app and get just as much functionality out of it as any normal email account.
2. Legal limitations. Android is a FREE platform, the licensing specifically mandates that any direct modification to it or it's bundled apps requires you to give users access to the source code as well. That's why when you see HTC Sense/Samsung Touchwiz they add apps rather than modifying the bundled ones. The Gmail system and allapps for that matter are not free (as in licensing, not cost), the source code for the apps are owned solely by Google. The Email app is part of Android, so it's free and the source is available. If Google merged the 2 applications the Email app would no longer be free and the source code locked up. BUT, if you (or anyone) wanted to merge the 2 apps for your own use by coding Gmail functionality into the standard email app then you can do so. This is the benefit of free software. But this is the case with any proprietary system (which Gmail is).
At the end of the day, as far as the email app is concerned, IOS and Android both have the same thing. The Gmail app is entirely EXTRA. Or you could download something like K9 which does email even better.
K, well I refused to lock into a 2 year contract before the iphone5 comes out. So tonight i'm picking up a second hand sg2. I could have chosen either an sg2 with extended battery pack or Nexus for the same price (ca$h), but am going the sg2 cause the nexus is too mega big.
I'm then going onto Red Bull mobile for 365 days.
Suits my needs for the moment. I've got a metric ****load of money locked up in itunes, but will keep that sitting there for use by my ipad, or iphone 5 if it ever comes out.
I have both and much prefer the galaxy s2, do wat you want, drag drop files ect. Apple wants you to pay for everything and do everything the hard way.
