Let us know how you go, for future reference it would be interesting to know if they do a full test or just sight the maf.
The GTS & C4B variants were engineered to be MAFless by HSV (manufacturer) and they passed the ADRs in that specification at the time they were made. If you look at the stock C4B tune, you will find some clues as to how they achieved same and it sometimes was not real pretty.
cheers

Thanks fish and Luis for the offers. If I need anything I'll let you guys know.
The EPA guy said nothing about my exhaust which was surprising, he was only concerned about the maf and said they will plug into the car to make sure the maf is working. I might speak to my exhaust guy though to see if I can put a stock exhaust on just to be safe.
just a bit of an update. i received the letter for a full EPA test on wednesday, and i now have all the maf bits thanks to two very helpful forum members. ill also be fitting a single 2 1/4 exhaust for the day as it has to past the noise test aswell. i didnt get a fine with it but its $80 to have the test done, and $40 for every time you try again if you fail, so hopefully i pass first time up!

The question of MAF-less tunes and EPA compliance has nothing to do with the after market tune.
speaking specifically for the Vic members, the RTS / EPA rules basically state that...
"The removal or deactivation of any OEM emissions components, will deem the vehicle as non-compliant with the EPA rules."
The ONLY way to get around this is to have the vehicle retested and certified as complying with the EPA emissions requirements.
As you might realise, this makes pretty much ever car running an after market MAF-less tune, in breach of the EPA requirements.
It's not a case of how polluting the car might be, it's a case of the car no longer complies with the rule.
Before people start complaining about all this, you have to remember that the rules are there for a reason and they have to be easily enforceable. It's easy to see if a MAF has been removed, it's much harder to run a 5 gas drive cycle test on the side of the road.
Simon.
If you're going paint a target on your self, expect some special attention....
Passed my EPA test today. Standard intake setup with maf and a V6 exhaust which was 80db. Happy days
