Re: High-performance 'hoon' car stolen from holding yard

Giving someone a wrong part over the counter is a mistake and inconvienience, leaving someones keys on the bonnet in a holding yard and it getting stolen is negligent.

Yes something is wrong, too many jealous f#ckwits are too worried about how much others earn. When a copper moves up the ranks they don't earn too bad and the danger decreases.
As has been said, alot of jobs come with dangers. Yes coppers may have to deal with scum, but the majority do it because that is the career they want to do in life an know the dangers.
We just had a copper buried in NSW who's daughter is going through the academy now, the commisioner has offered her a deferral in her studies, but she has declined, sometimes it's in the blood, she all well knows the dangers....
You do realise that coppers have a union/association that negotiates their wages too.

You tell me how overpaid an electrician is when you are sweating your ass of working inside a 400 amp switchboard in a main switch room, that could literally blow your hands from your wrists and melt your eyelids shut if you make a mistake.

At the end of the day it wouldn't make any difference to my wife and kids if I died being an electrician or if I was a copper. Dead is dead.

Domestic electricians, they are paid the same if not less than cops, for good reason, not very dangerous. Commercial/Industrial electricians? Theres a reason we earn 80k plus a year.

    Thats why.

From what I've read on a few different copies of that video, its a pump up circuit breaker, you basically pump it/wind it up until its ready to make contact and bang, its cranks on (you can see the guy cranking the handle)

Apparently there was moisture between the terminals and once it made contact it exploded, and the arc was so large that it sustained itself until the high voltage protection operated (outside in the substation) which is the constant flaring you see. Wouldn't have done the dude any favours though.

Really high current, could possibly be high voltage as well (in excess of 1000 volt).

Wouldn't be surprised if the car doesn't turn up in the owner's Nanna's garage..
Haven't read anything but you believe what channel 7 says that just proves how stupid some people are

We had one of these installed at work recently.
You have to pump this lever until it starts to tighten, then clicks. Hit the go button and BANG, power's on.

    p.s
was that really a youtube video of a youtube video ? We must go deeper !

    Sorry u are an idiot.
    Davo has a dangerous job.

Picture this: Davo is doing the daily lunchtime Subway run for his bosses, the young lad behind the counter doesn't quite wrap the Service Managers Teriyaki Chicken foot long right, and out comes a few drops of Ranch Dressing right under Davos loafer...bam Davos on his ass in the middle of the service department. Not cool!

Bettery hurry up children, play school will be on soon.......

Most men go and buy a Porsche Boxter when they hit their mid-life crisis. I suppose picking on people on the internet is cheaper......
