whats the best otrcai out there

I was told to day that a SS induction otr was more of a SS reduction.
So what is the best otrcia out there at the moment for a VE L98?

Its better then nothing but not worth the price tag thats for sure. Mine lasted 2 weeks before I sold it to my dad haha.

Can't go past the VCM suite OTR or Duspeed one.

You beat me to my reply by starting this new thread

There are several that are recomended for the VE

My personal choice was the DUS OTR of which there is a new updated version soon available.

Often a tuner will recomend one.

Best to do your research on here and make up your own mind.

You will find fan boys for each type on here.

At the end of the day they will likely only vary by 2 - 5 rwkw so it might come down to price and which one looks best.

Will you only be racing on tarmac? If you are going to get dirty then an OTR that is easy to clean could also be a factor

I also have the Dus Mk2 and love it!! The new Mk3 should be even better! The VCM OTR also seems good so I'd say the pick of the bunch at the moment is one of those two. You want one in which the filter is large and easy to get out to clean.

I have the APS one on my E3, its a conventional cold air intake style not an OTR. Its very well made & looks factory, results wise its making similair power to the VCM & Dus.

Gee i wish some honest sponsor on here would do a back to back dyno and track testing mapping kpa differences and really see who has the best and most efficient otr out there from vt-ve.I realise there may not be much in it bar the price tag..Im sure a dyno day and with members could gather up a handful of otrs to test.

Either a dus or a vcm otr and you won't go wrong, the dus ones look cooler though.

Did they go from oil based filters to paper filters so oil residue wont clog up the Maf?(from what I understand with the series2 you can now get a maf version with paper filter) Or is there another reason for the switch in filters?

A few tests in progress around a few other forums.

For me...its simple physics. More air = Good. So the path of least restriction and bends coupled with a wide enough input for volume equal thumbs up!
