Go message Macca33 he has had a few from my knowledge and his current one he changed the cam and heads and its putting out about 300kW if im correct and thats with a relatively small cam.
Cheers boggers - I'm very happy with it.
Grundi - I have a Comp LSL-lobed 215/223 .601 / .609 @111lsa in my car (admittedly with very good aftermarket heads) and it has made b/w 292 and 308rwkW (different dynos / days, etc), but the most impressive part is that the torque curve is very strong throughout the rev-range. I only need to rev the car to about 6250rpm to achieve maximum power, which makes it very valvetrain friendly also.
I based the cam on things Sonny (Autowerks) had to say about the C4B cam long ago - that the C4B cam's duration was good, but could be improved upon with a tighter lobe separation and a bit more valve lift.
The car accelerates very quickly from off-idle and the mid-range is fantastic, whilst it holds out for a respectable top-end. Here is a pic of a dyno comparison between the 215/223 cam (that had not been fully tuned at that point) and a 224/228 cam that I had in my last car, with the same heads:-
And a couple more dyno results:-
With standard C4B heads, you lose a bit of the power / torque compared to mine, but not to a ridiculous point. I'd suggest you get the C4B heads shaved a tad, to get the SCR up to at least 10.5:1, as they are about 9.95:1 stock. Here is a DynoSim of what a stock C4B head/cam looks like compared against a stock C4B head & 215/223 cam and a C4B head at 64cc (approx 10.75:1 SCR) with the 215/223 cam. (These are flywheel figures and are indicative of trend b/w the three set-ups).
This is the fourth camshaft that I've had in M6 LS1 / C4B type cars and it is the one I'm most happy with. There are many other choices - dependent upon what your desires are - so don't take my opinion as gospel, but for a street-driven car that does everything as smoothly as the oem C4B cam, with a heap more power / torque, this is a very nice cam.
If you need any more info, send me a PM.
cheers
