    Arcan low profile trolley jacks

    Hi all,

I'm looking for a new trolley jack and came across these on eBay.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/110894572...84.m1423.l2649

Price seems good for a 'low profile' jack, and doing a quick search seemed to find that they get good reviews on car forums generally.

Does anyone own one and can provide some feedback? Its only for occassional home use so don't really need a $500+ jobbie.

    Cheers

Re: Arcan low profile trolley jacks

Looks unbelievably similar to the one my boss purchased from Costco in Melbourne last year for half the price....

EDIT - Look at this thread... http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/i...c=491210&st=30

EDIT AGAIN - For what its worth, we've been using that jack at work a LOT for the last 18 months and its been brilliant. Not sure how low it is for low cars though (we've just been using it to change tyres on a 2 wheeling yaris and stunt minis). I think he paid about $160 from costco as well (which lines up with that nissansilvia thread).

I have one of these as well. 160 from Costco. The dude on eBay just buys the whole pallet from Costco and puts a mark up. I've seen very similar looking ones at autobahn and total tools for 500 and just laugh.

For the price, weight, quality and versatility of it I'm very happy with mine.

I bought an Armstrong jack a few years ago now I barely use it unless I need two jacks at the same time.

Thanks for confirming. Looks like I'll grab myself one

I have read they can be bought at Costco for cheaper but apparently you need to buy a membership to purchase anything from them.

Find a mate who wants one aswell and go halves in a membership. You can have 2 people on the one membership. While you're there pick up some cheap toilet paper and giant crab legs lol.

Costco group buy? one member can go in there and get them for us all +$10 on cosco price per unit would be a nice price for their trouble

The question is, who is willing to do it? I'd be happy to pay $20 on top if they could also arrange shipping

Yep, bought one a few months ago and very happy with the seller and the jack. A hassle free transaction and it arrived in about 2-3 days. It came highly recommended on another car forum (BMW) and thought I'd give it a go.

Re: Arcan low profile trolley jacks

I was looking at getting one like this, but found they could hardly be referred to as low profile- no chance of fitting under my front bar

I went with a Bluepoint low profile (made by snapon) and it fits under my VE SSV front bar on coilovers - straight under to the kframe to lift the front of the car up - makes the jobs that much easier!

Its low profile enough for me, my current one is 135mm and it fits under my car.

    Like I said, I dont need a $500 jobbie.

Bought one and it was delivered yesterday. Nice bit of kit, is a bloody big bugger though! Atleast compared to the outgoing one
