only 13 :/

well last night was my first night at the drags with my berlina and I managed to pull a 13.07 at 108 mph. (with 20's and cheap street tyres) I was very happy with this but when I put it on the facebook, I got a fair bit of negative feedback.
Is 13 seconds on street tyres a respectable time?? or is that about what all cars run??

i have a 238/242@ 110 cam, otr, maffless tune. gearbox has a satge 2 shift wider bands and corvette servos and 3.9 diff gears in a 5.7 vy berlina. last dyno i made 275 rwkw.

the experts all own standard VE SS/ clubsports

Its going to be hard on cheap ass 20s. Put some 15" Mickey Thompson ET streets on it and you'll knock about a second off that time.

so the experts have 6L and 6.2L V8s that you'd beat anyway and they're talking about a 5.7?
definitely change the tyres, even if you can't get MT ET's, get some fat 16's, drop the pressures and go. I cracked 12.95 on 235/45/18s with 232/234, exh, 2800 stall, std box and 3.07 gears with 287rwkw. Those 3.9s can get you into 11s if you set it up right.

If you want to know the truth, that is a poor time for that supposed power. If it really had 275rwkw your slip would say 115+ mph.

I have plenty of dyno charts that say 275. I may take it back to TMS and see what they can do

thats pretty decent. new set of tyres and a re-run. apparently townsville drag way is slippery. may have something to do with it. does anyone know of any other 1/4 in north queensland??

My SSZ went 12.5 on sticky street tyres. On my normal every day 19" tyres I have managed 12.7. And 12.2 on ET Streets.

That was with my old cam. 228/230, 3.7 diff, 3500rpm stall.

My new cam, 231/239 and 4.11 diff, has managed 12.09 with wheel spin on the ET Streets.


What stall have you got? That will make a big difference as well.

Possibly a tad on the small size for the cam you have. I would have gone 4200-4500rpm. That's me though.
