If It's r-spec why are the 6 pots an option. Bit lame, should have pipped HSV by going wider at the rear.

its a shame that both holden and ford continue with "sticker specials" all the $ they waste on stickers, could be better spent on what people want, mechanical upgrades. Stickers and pretty wheels should be an afterthought.
Couldnt agree more re the "sticker specials".
Why they didn't just take the styling cues from the GT blackconcept from last year??
Ehh, doesnt do much for me lol
But it does have more then new stickers:
"The new car thus received a significant number of component changes to develop this totally integrated package."
The rear suspension of the GT RSPEC contains higher spring rates, re-tuned dampers, larger anti-roll bar, and reinforced rear lower control arms, while the front suspension has stiffer upper control arm bushes, stiffer front upper suspension strut mounts, and re-tuned dampers.
New 9inch rear wheels and the 275 tyre combine on the GT RSPEC to also improve cornering grip, along with improved traction during launch, and when exiting corners. A revised toe setting on the rear wheel alignment also gives improved turn-in response.
Stiffer transmission mounts on the GT RSPEC reduce powertrain and driveline movement under load improve ride quality, while the addition of Launch Control provides drivers with a more consistent performance when accelerating from rest, reducing the amount of wheel slip.
"We have created a Launch Control feature on both the manual and automatic transmission that tailors torque delivery to ensure launch performance is optimised," Bernie Quinn explained.
"The system is automatically enabled when the vehicle is started and is designed to give drivers a smooth, consistent launch on typical road surfaces."
^ Is that actually Launch Control? Sounds like they're just describing Traction Control
Do you reckon that launch control is possibly more about longevity of the drive-train? Protect against the extra stress generated by the additional traction from the 9 inch rears?
I thought it was more than rumour that the reason Falcon's haven't had larger (better) tyres (until now) was to protect the drive train - the tyres give in before the tailshaft, or something like that. Customer keeps going through rear tyres from wheelspin = customer's problem - tailshaft breaking under load and smashing the floor plan etc = big problem for manufacturer.
Given this launch control comes on when the car is started...or can it be turned off (without afermarket tune)?
Correction coming, the XR6 Turbo version is to build boost before you release the clutch. It allows fuel to pass into the exhaust to build boost without any load on the engine, so when you release the clutch you have boost straight away. You still have to control the amount of wheel spin, it is not electronically done.
The GT version limits torque to get you off the line. This would place more stress on the drive line because you are getting traction rather than spinning the wheels. I would think that some of the drive line changes have been to reduce wheel tramp....well hopefully anyway.
So basically the good old anti lag theory

The black / red combo looks a bit try hard, but I can see the influence is from the Mustang, however the white / black and blue / black combo look not too bad at all.
