Limited Cash Adventra VZ LX6 or VYII LX8??

Yes, I know that is the case, I don't want to rush in and buy one that has issues and things like that. I don't want to buy something I don't like only for the dream car with all the gear to become available and its too late!

I still think the 237k km Adventra in Bris is a few too many kms for my liking. I'm not sure of the service history yet but it'd be interesting to read about it!

What are the expensive services in these? I believe some of the services in the book are dearer than others due to belts and so fourth aren't they?

What's your budget?

I like the ones with leather interior, easier to keep clean. Stock the V8 feels as quick as a six RWD.

They have quite good 4WD capabilities for what they are. It would be great car to take around Australia. Slightly higher ride height, handle very well on dirt and cross low creaks.

The six is the one Holden should of released first. The V8 was seen as thirsty and not a desirable shape compared to SUVs (e.g. Territory).

I'm coming up to 300,000K in my CX6. I have replaced 2 low beam globes, a front prop shaft and the water pump...

It's a bit creaky in the suspension, but I'm OK with that!

I can't get my head around this auction one though... Faulty front parkers.... what could that mean (worst case scenario)...

Also, what are the costs (purchase and install) if worst case scenario the motor packed up and I was up for a new/replacement one?

I've never had to have an engine replaced or anything really like that but what costs would I be looking at if I had to have it done...? Ballpark?

Never heard back re: the service history and so fourth so it was too much of a risk (in my view), I could have gone the odd 40k kms less at least and paid a big more

Keeping my eyes out for another VZ 05 LX8 anyway, if anyone finds any for a good price? Quicksilver in colour also but as the particular model is almost virtually impossible to track down, just about any colour will be considered!

I have a black one with the tan leather. Nice contrast. The wife picked it as she didn't want the black leather interior. Good choice on her part and I'm pleased I listened.

I haven't really taken much notice of the colour of the leather interior, either colour as long as its leather i'd be fairly happy! Why do you prefer the tan?

I did already contact this seller I believe, have yet to hear. You're right though, making an offer upfront is probably the best way to go. Then both parties know what you can afford and you know if they're willing to negotiate. I guess thats what I've always done in terms of selling cars, I will generally want to get rid of the car and if someone was to offer me a sum of cash, I'd negotiate the price lower than what was listed

Turn up look at the car decide if its what you want, then pull out 12gran in cash, its amazing how the look of the green stuff sways the buyer.

They have already bought another car, did they finance it ?? If so they will be looking for a sale.

The only risk doing it this way is not getting the checked over by a mechanic.

What would be the amount to offer on various prices? I mean that one for example is asking $17,650, is $12k cash acceptable. By that I mean is it enough to not be insulting?? Do people actually accept offers for less $5-6k?

With the black wagon the tan lightens the interior. Had a look at one with the black leather and the inside seemed a bit dark for me. LX8 's have leather and most over here (NZ) have black leather. Had a quick look to see if there are any VZ's on trademe over here and was surprised to see there are only VY2's. When we got ours there was a choice of about 4. As earlier post said the lack of them means people are starting see how good they are and there is no real equivalent alternative.
