Strange tune for LS1?

I recently purchased a VT2 LS1 with 105,000km. all service history and nice looking car.

I had the car mafless tuned. The tune in the car was interrogated and the following noted..

Timing had been advanced from standard by a fair bit
Fuel curve seemed to be standard
In power mode rev limit was only 5000rpm
In normal mode the gears seemed to hang on longer than power mode
All torque management software was on
Knock sensor was pulling 10 degrees timing if knocked
Lean cruise deactivated
Maf was retained

Car went fine and didnt make any strange noises but tuner was confused at what was trying to be acheived with the tune? Car had standard headers and cats on it, cheapo SS inductions intake and Redback catback.

Any ideas? Economy tune? Some backyarder tried to tune it previously?

Now has a proper tune and drives much better.

Mate, you should get in touch with the previous owner and ask them who did what and why?

It does not make any sense to me why anyone would tune it like that.

Buggered if I know either ??.

But lean cruise isn't on in the factory tune you have to activate it

but the replacement ecu wouldnt have such a tune would it? Seems like its tuned either very poorly or for a specific purpose? Why the early change at 5000rpm in power mode?

It’s obvious, the previous owner loved Fords and wanted to slow this Holden down.

tuner said that its strange for timing to be advanced whilst fuel left alone, torque management left alone, rev limit reduced, heaps of timing being pulled upon knock.

May have too much detonation or valve float....who knows

Not everyone locks mate. Only guys with insecurity issues bother with doing that.
