The diff ratio helps a lot, as does a good tune. Between them it's a totally new car. The ratio you need will depend on your driving. I probably spend 50 to 70% of my time in 80km/hr zones and it's prety rare for me to hit a 100-110km/hr zones. I've got the A4 with 4.11 and love it. If you did a lot of country driving I would go 3.73, or if more city with some country 3.91. But if you throw a high stall in then I would probably stay with the 3.73. The other benefit of shorter diff gears it unloads the engine a bit and helps remove droning. A rough test using your A4 is if you want to know what a 4.00 (half way between the 3.91 and 4.11) is roughly like at speed, drive around locked in 3rd and that's what my 4th is like (it's pretty close) I've got some info on my website qldkev.net

Overall I tend to recommend people stay away from "near new" systems. In at least 9 out of every 10 cases, the true translation is...."it sounds like shit or it drones too much".

    Hello Forum,

I contacted the boys down at performance pipes for a quote on a set up, All I told them was my budget and what I wanted (OTR etc (without mentioning brands)) and they replied to my enquiry with their suggestions. which are posted below, What do you guys think?

    "Pacemaker headers ( Comp 4 into 1 ) $850 or Tri Y"s $ 750 or Genie $ 700
    OTR $ 680
    Twin 3" XForce $ 880
    VCM Suite Tune $ 770
    Install $ 220

Total $ 3740 with Pacy Comps. gst inc
Total $ 3575 with Genie. gst inc

I understand the above is your request. However i would suggest 2 x 200 cell hi flow cats @ $440 installed.
The combination of Headers, Cats, OTR, 3" Twin system will give best result, as i can then increase air & fuel to generate 60 RWH with the tune."

how does this sound to everyone out there i.e Brands/price (I may ask for something other than Xforce as some of you here have said that they have a slight disposition of droning.)

All of your input is very much taken onboard.

I found you can get the pacies 4>1's for around $700 if you look around.
Also, X-Force 3" are on ebay for around $600-$650..
Go with the 4>1's as they tend to give a better note than tri Y's!

I'd be wanting to know what brand the otr is before handing over the cash. That price is well into Dus range.
