    Clubsport outsold SSV in 2012?

    from

The milestone caps a solid 12 months for HSV. In 2012, the ClubSport outsold Holden's SS-V Commodore with 735 sales, while almost 700 Maloo utes were snapped up by Aussie buyers.

Is this true, and if so, I wonder why?

Dont know weather thats good or bad. That would mean Clubsport's are becoming more common than SS's. Not that good for HSV owners that think their car is limted production and exclusive.

Maybe SS owners are moving to HSV are telling Holden somthing - Power up the SS, which has been sitting at 270 kW since its introduction in 2006?

Would have thought SS would've had more sales than that - 700 odd sales is not a lot for a whole year.

Maybe buyers were looking for that exclusivity. Perhaps they had a little more coin to afford a little 'better' - your economy was pretty good in 2012. The LS3 is quite a good reason too

Clubsport out sold SS-V, not SS. SS-V is a bit of a plug in the model line up between an SS and a Calais V V8/Clubsport. We might find that maybe the SS-V gets canned with the VF with all the talk about cutting down the model range. We shall see.

To my mind it would be because the SS is better value for $, and the same again with the Clubsport vs SS-V for the same sort of dollars. Nicer interior, bolder styling, better suspension and brakes as well as an LS3...

huh..??? SSV costs the same as a Clubsport?
    nope, not in my experience.
my SSV wagon bought mid last year was over $25,000 cheaper than the HSV wagon
and at that price makes it far better value for your $

I have had 2 VE SSV wagons and each time have had a look at the HSV offering. Nothing wrong
with the HSV offering but given I primarliy want a tow vehicle for my race car and want value for money...
the SSv fits the bill better

I prefer the interior of an SSV over the interior of a clubbie

Oh and HSVs are now around every corner and not as uncommon as they were once upon a time so its no surprise they out sold the SSV

Do they include the R8 in the Clubbie numbers?

SSV was a nice model in VE series 1. You got the colour screen, better wheels, bigger spoiler, and more options for trim. In VE series II there was SFA difference between features on an SSV compared to an SS.

Re: Clubsport outsold SSV in 2012?

I've seen some pretty bloody cheap Clubsport sedans on sale brand new - didn't HSV have a glut of cars at one point as well?

I assume there would be more of a disparity in other models though.

Have not been in a VE HSV, but the SS-V Redline interior at least is alright, didn't really set my world on fire though.

Could also be that a fair few more SS models were sold in 2012 - they were consistently advertised for $41,990 drive away IIRC. If you can get that sort of discount on an SS and not on an SSV (although hard to see why not) maybe people just went the SS instead.

Having said that I think in general I see more VE SSV models around than SS.

.. i've never liked the 'SSV' badging for some reason. i hope they do away with it.

Bring back the 'exec' with manual+V8 option!
