If you want to stay in the commodore arena, I would go older model. Something like a VL is 1250kg's give or take dependant on model.
Doesn't take a whole lot of stonk to get something like that into the 10's. Good choice of engines, RB30, Holden 5L and plenty of kits for LS1 conversions.
A suitably head and cammed LS1, glide, BW78 Turbo Diff and a 100 shot would see it in the 10's with ease. Probably even a low 10.
Yep, I bought an s15 6 months or so ago. $10K, great condition and even in stock form it feels like it blows the doors off my VZ GTO. Miles nicer to drive in a spirited fashion, BUT there is no way I could drive it as a daily.
Bought to turn into a bit of track hack. Eventually will go the LS for pure torque which it greatly lacks. Very fun car.
id grab a crate motor and bolt it into a hq. Suspension and good tyres will see you in an awesome weapon, a keeper, and a looker all at the same time. Not to mention itl be pretty light and will look reaaally cool TRYING to go fast haha
^^ So whats done to the Monaro so it can eat Modded AWD's. was it 100k rolling starts or something.
Buy a Kawasaki ZZR 1400, and in showroom standard form blow away everything with 4 wheels, while having a docile fast sports bike and a reasonable tourer as well. It does around 9.6 in the 400m on road tyres, around 280kmh top speed and who knows what over 300kmh if you remove the speed limiter. Now that's what I call thrills.
Sorry about the sidetrack, but I just couldn't resist.
