    build a bridge u too..

    anyways...

some ppl like to have the good stuff under the bonnet and like to hide/blend it in so it looks OEM, I no I want mine to look factory lol

there is a market for it if someone designed one.

Plenty of people run Harrops stealth system.... there's also plenty of OEM setups that blend the blower in to the engine by use of covers.

Loads of hidden turbo setups, so why should a blower be any different?

My experience is this... don't attract attention by driving like a douche, don't run a toothed belt setup and you won't have any problems. You don't need to hide it in the engine bay if you don't get pulled over to begin with!

I've had this 383 lurking under the bonnet of my GTS for 8 years and have never had any issues with the Police. And those who have heard it will vouch that it's not a sleeper in terms of the sound it makes either!!!

Moral: If you drive like a dickhead, your OTR Intake will be enough to get you in the crap. If you drive with a bit of common sense the sky is the limit for what's under the bonnet.

i havent been pulled once since owning my clubby,

and weather you like it or not the cops will sticker your ass if u look at them sideways and they dont like your face,

theuy really dont need a reason for a licky these days, they just slap one on and make up some bullshit, so either way your rooted.

I'v had the blower on for about 2 years now and never had a problem.

but i always drive on the side of caution.

I can relate to both sides of this argument.
I have some mates who enjoy just owning, modding and driving their cars who keep to themselves
and would not dream of taking their car to a car show and shine.....
and I also have a couple of mates who live to put their cars in car shows.

Re: Going stealth with a top mount supercharger. Is it possible?

Being an enthusiast is not just about fronting up with a display at car shows, not everyone feels that confident.

The most common enthusiast usually loves the attention and is happy to talk and show their cars to their mates, the people they work with, the neighbours, the fellow at the servo, anyone who asks a question or shows an interest.

It’s always a buzz when a like minded person takes an interest in your hobby, it’s unusual for an enthusiast to ignore that type of attention.

Making a modified car appear stock has been a favourite with the car scene ever since modifying cars has been going on. It’s another genre and one where people like to show how stock their car looks.

If you are only concerned about hiding your mods from the Police then maybe it’s time to adjust your driving style as those in the know will spy a top mounted blower without too much investigation regardless of what you place over the top of it.

I think Walkinshaw have the only stealth like blower and it's engineered anyway so doesn't need to be stealth

My definition a sleeper doesn't involve driving around with a plexiglass bonnet.

I’ve known a few fellows who drive sleepers.
They like to talk about and show you their sleeper.

Re: Going stealth with a top mount supercharger. Is it possible?

For as long as I've been in the modified car scene, a sleeper has been a car that when observed "on the road", outwardly appears like a stock example of whatever model it is.

What makes it a sleeper is when you go against it and it performs infinitely better than you were expecting.

The best example of a sleeper I've ever seen was a Gold HQ sedan at a Willowbank TestnTune many years ago. This thing looked totally stock (right down to the stock rims and hubcaps)..... It did a 12.9 second quarter..... Ultimate Sleeper!!!!

Lifting the bonnet and not being able to see a supercharger isn't a sleeper

There also used to be another "sleeper" at Willowbank in the late 90's. Beat up-looking blue XD that ran low 12s all day.

There are different degrees of obviousness regarding mods, but I'm looking to be as discrete as possible. I don't drive like an idiot either, which is another part of the equation.

I'd imagine that anything completely covering the engine would make the blower invisible to anyone who opens the hood.
