Thats's funny considering CAMS has affiliated itself with both Temora1000 and SnowyMountains1000 , both straight line events in NSW .

Ahh but this made the event 11ty times better as if you have mates that travelled a long distance to watch, you could entertain them, or if you were interested in a particular set up, you have a chance to experience it.

Stuff CAMS anyway - Brockas and the rest made it a top event regardless

Well I had an awesome time as a spectator. Walking around the pits getting rides in people's cars, thanks again Dave for the seat in yours! Was great to meet you as well Faedy, would love to jump in your Monaro as a passenger next time if you don't mind.

Might even enter my ute next year. Although would probably need to find some more power before then.

Was a full on time - I didnt do a single run without a passenger all Sat or Sun

Closest person to the car was given a helmet and an adrenalin rush to go

I entered both events and both required a CAMS license and both times car was scrutineered by CAMS officials and had to pass according to CAMS rules

No problem Stelth you may have had CAMS officials at SM1000, I don't know as I wasn't there but I'll stand by my comment for now that Temora1000 is the only CAMS affiliated/permitted event. You could always look for the SM1000 event on the CAMS website.......I can"t find it.

Clearly you don't need CAMS affiliation to have a great event then. I was actually under the impression it was affiliated, so there was no shortage of professionalism, organisation or safety. Side-by-side runs over a full weekend FTW

Yes I saw on the website for that event that L2S was a requirement but that and CAMS officials on the day does not make it affiliated. This sounds a bit odd to me and it would appear that he wants CAMS affiliation but is unable to obtain it. Don't get me wrong I am no CAMS fanboy but if they approve an event everything such as insurance/safety should be of a high standard. Don't hold your breath waiting for Adam to reply I just looked and it appears that he is permanently banned. Cheers.

Yeah hear what you are saying, he was probably perma banned for advertising a motorsports event that wasn't affiliated like the llllsssssxxxxx shoooootout kind of deal.

I'll send him an email and ask, I don't know if CAMS affiliation is what he is trying to achieve or if its just a good idea that the cars meet some safety requirement.
