The last one was a lot over a $100k, I don't think they will have much trouble selling them. If you bought a new Gts and got a workshop to fit the blower you would be looking at similar money. It is expensive but compared to the euros it's pretty good value.

    Agree.
I wonder which gearbox will go in this car. Will the current box be Ok?...I suppose I'm going to upset some people with this view....but I reckon this car'd be pretty good with an auto.
    Cheers, Pickles.

Good point, I just hope they can get the punters in the dealerships to buy them.

I note that Wheels magazine are saying that the "images" of the red car are not correct in all details......and they further say that we'll have to wait for an actual image of THE car until their next issue?
    Cheers, Pickles.

There is no mystery with this car. For all questions like this look to the zl1 and cts-v. Both use 6l90

In sept 2000, the aus dollar was trading at 0.55US, 93K was cheap, ie 52US which is ballpark for top of range performance cars at the time

Today, 1 AU = 1.03 US, $100k AU = $103K US, this is the type of car you can buy for 6 figures

I hope HSV and Holden keep the prices up as high as possible to keep the punters buying

Comparing to the US dollar is irrelevant as it would mean that we should be paying less for the premium imported cars then them. Yet they pay heaps less. The other thing to keep in mind is inflation, making this car even more affordable then say a new VT GTS

The link you have provided to the lambo's again is irrelevant as if your looking at aus prices you need to at least double if not tripple the price.

15th of May is apparently the embargo date, so all details will be out then. The next Wheels issue is supposedly out on that date. I assume Motor would be too...

The Cadillac CTS-V comes either 6 speed manual or 6L90E 6 speed auto (the beefed up version of the 6L80E in the current Commodores), so maybe the GTS will have a choice. Inclined to agree with you that an auto with this much torque would be a great cruiser/muscle car much like a C63.

Well 13 years ago I paid $100k for a commodore - so I can't see HSV having too many issues moving the new blown GTS stock. Bet the W427 used price will drop by $40k overnight, most are asking $100k+ but not for long

Yep, people clearly forget the C4B powered GTS RRP.... The W427 will be unique in its own way, i doubt the new car will impact its resale value, they're different cars with very different DNA.
