If I was in the market for a car like this. In all honesty I would rather this GTS than a C63. Bogan grunt is just in my blood I guess

How the fark do I not represent a regular HSV (or local product) buyer? Without people like me (and many others) they wouldn't exist. And people like me (and many others) will stop (many have, as evident by some of the replies) if they don't build what we want. IT REALLY IS THAT SIMPLE.

Many buyers still care about the locals. The ones that are vocal and criticize are the ones who (usually) care the most.

Oh, and the GTS of old will return. And for the slow, it will be be supercharged and it will be fricken brilliant.

I'm with you 100% Bouka. And planetdavo calling people tossers because they decide to buy another brand reflects poorly on Holden's attitude to the buying public.

Not a chance, a few cars eclipse this power level from other manufacturers. The fact it is under 100K is probably the catalyst for numnuts to think everyone can own one.

You can get a 25 year old VL, bolt a turbo on the side and make this kind of power at the flywheel. These power levels are available to anyone these days, even a 20 year old with a loan.

Did I read right in saying only 150 cars?

I hope it gets a good review from the motoring press.

lol, I think we've come along way from 140mph cars with drum brakes, cross ply tyres, bench seats and no real safety features .

The GTS is back where it should be, what R8's wanna be when they grow up .......... a GTS Maloo would be nice thou.

Can't wait to see them in GT racing. to HSV to, hopefully, listening to the punters

    Re: Supercharged HSV?

ALthough im not in the market for one (won't be able to afford it and i looove my VZ HSV soo much still) but i am happy that this vehicle will be available to those that will appreciate it (and can afford it). The stupididty of joe public is mind boggling, particurarly the comments comparing it to the euro's. Its like they're all jelous that these vehicles will now be available to people that don't earn a six figure salary. Now i own a BMW (e46 320ci coupe 6cyl too) and a VZ clubbie. And i love my holden's...... well done HSV! The more the average idiot hates it, the more appealing it is to me lols. The ultimate F**k U car. hehe

edit: apparently there was also a backlash against this on the Today Show on channel 9, there's a thread on AFF on it:

Yeah.....probably be nice to own for a bit of "Look at how much money I earn". But how would you feel when you get blown away by a vl sleeper on a budget build?......

Planetdavo researching before posting epic fail.

Re the new GTS, it just goes to show what a complete and utter rip-off the W427 was.......

I'm trying to figure out where that extra 70 grand was spent, over and above the new VF GTS.......which has a supercharged LSA, and 55 extra kilowatts over the W427.
You know where, and you know when!!

no different to what a $200K porsche carrera owner thinks when a WRX low income earner can stay in pace behind him lapping around a curcuit...

    Re: Supercharged HSV?

i just wonder whether this will be a limited number build car? Like the VT II/VX and VY GTS's wre all built in low numbers, and so retained a good re-sale value and are now much more desireable over standard HSV's.

To be honest, the W427 is the limited # build GTS in the VE range, and probably should have been called the GTS-R or something (like the VS etc) but i guess the huge price difference dictated that it couldn't be called a GTS-whatever.

Wouldn't care in the slightest. I'll take the new luxury of the vf over the vl any day

I don't think many people would begrudge someone who had handed over their hard earned for an Aussie GTS , less of the "Tool" "Wanker" badge that some makes get.

. But how would you feel when you get blown away by a vl sleeper on a budget build?......
That he/she was jealous a blown state of the art HSV GTS and that it's ricer motor will probably need a rebuild after .....
