Yep limited run in year 1, only 500 will be made from what I have heard ... who knows after that, hopefully the run will increase in size. I have been waiting for this engine for years, in my opinion it was always coming, think they just needed the Cadillac, running the same engine, to reach its 5 year mark with no major issues.
Cant wait, I will be putting an order in. If you look at the Hennessy performance site its sensational what these units are capable of.
More so the ZL1 which shares a significant amount of DNA with the commodore.
Proving the engine over 5 years is BS. GM does that for them well before even they use the engine. HSV adopted LS2, LS3 pretty much as soon as Chev did. The LSA has been around for donkeys. They should of used it way back for the W427
I've just been looking at the Camaro ZL1 site. The claim is 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds (and 12 second quarter mile). Hopefully in translation to 0-100 km/h and a heavier car the penalty is less than half a second.

Ok here is what we know so far (in my opinion of course):
GTS to have lsa. 430kw with some trick tech. 100k give or take. 750 to be built.
Clubbie to have 317kw ls3
r8 to have 325kwls3
Option to upgrade to 340kw that will have intake enhancements (cool intake system, not otr)
Trick traction control system
Conti tyres
All the stuff from Holden VF will be included and then added HSV kit.
They will be brilliant. No photos are accurate (some getting close-ish).
GTS will be a masterpiece. Can't get lsa in any other model.
Probably some things I have missed.
They have listened to feedback and done a ripper job with this gen f (stupid name).
m5, e63, rs6 etc don't have 430kw. Although only in one model and a halo car, the significance of the GTS, it's power output and the tech it will have will redefine the Aussie performance car.
Let's hope they look good.
As mentioned, purely speculating of course.
Does this mean the stock standard variety (for want of a word) HSV’s at 317 & 325kw still won’t pull under 5 seconds to 100?
Which is too slow in this day and age for a serious performance sedan.
.
With the weight saving i reckon consistent 5 flats are likely, it'll be more how it handles that'll be the best improvement.
The thing i am worried about is the Electro hydraulic steering...... Will it have good consistent feedback? Or will it be numb and devoid of any feel ala Audi?
I want to know if gts will have everything Calais v gets and more or will it be based on Calais? Also gts with the top gear mag lip spoiler would be nice. No crazy big wings. Option?
The last letter in performance will be if it can stay with m5 that has less power, less torque and more weight. m5 has posted well in excess of 120mph 1/4 passes. Based on zl1 I think it won't be close. I hope hsv have done something special.
