Really good setup there, I like the pics. Are there any clearance issues when its installed? (ie: belt drive to firewall)
My blower is off the ute at the moment and I had a chance to get some pics of the rear gilmer set up. For those that are interested, as its hard to see it properly when its on the motor.

Looks good. I'll be having a HTV1900 fitted soon and Im considering the rear gilmer drive set up. How do you find the noise from the gilmer drive compared to the standard rear belt and pulleys?

Another bonus with the gilmer drive is you don't see belt slip or stretch and when compared to without gilmer upgrade to just fitting the gilmer drive see gains of around 2 pound boost.

Good stuff. Do you know what pulley sizes are available? I thought the 'standard' rear gilmer kit was slightly undersized anyway compared to the standard pulley which would give a small increase in boost?
Have a few options with several smaller front pulleys and then also the option to fit a bigger balancer. Htv1900 that not long ago fitted a 75mm pulley from memory went up to 10lb boost on a vx Calais. On e85 through stock auto,convertor and diff gears. Engine has a small camshaft made 583rwhp

Gilmer comes in a 1:0.97 or a 1:1.17 IIRC

The theory goes (Assuming budget isnt an issue) run the 1:1.17 rear gilmer setup with a 10% overdriven balancer and the extra idler reroute kit as this allows you to run a larger sized front pulley (85mm) (meaning less chance of belt slip).
The cheaper option is just to run a smaller front pulley (say 80mm or 75mm) however you increase the chance of belt slip issues.
Also, the harrop 2300 (No idea on the 1900 although i guess its the same) runs well up to about 18,000rpm. You can go higher (21,000rpm) however heat becomes a MAJOR issue as the efficiency drops.

EDIT - Oh and FYI you can have a 6pk or 8pk belt to help with belt slip. Obviously 8pk is ideal but requires changing Harmonic balancer, P/S pulley, Alternator pulley and 2 idler pulleys. There was also rumor of a 10pk kit being developed, but clearance and cost were an issue. 8pk should be fine for almost all setups.

Feistl - thats exactly what Im looking at doing. Running the rear gilmer setup with the idler re-wrap kit on the front. Standard size after market balancer.
I have both the 85mm and 80mm pulleys and will be chasing 10psi so will leave it up to Jez to decide what to do and work his magic

And when I asked Harrop a while ago about the HTV1900 ans HTV2300 this is the reply I got so Id assume they are both the same?-
"The maximum RPM efficiency range of the supercharger internals is 18000RPM (rotor revolutions). There is no supercharger performance data above the 18000RPM mark, at which point the efficiency is less than 55%. The higher intake temps and extra power required to turn the SC negates any gain in performance that might be possible due to more airflow. This means that spinning the sc faster than 18000 will not yield more power from the engine."

All going to plan i can probably post up some detailed pictures of the rewrap kit/gilmer drive/larger balancers and 8pk kit. My motor goes in next tuesday, so should have it back in a couple of weeks.
But yeah, idea is to get as much grip on the front pulley as this is the most common point of belt slip.
Yeah harrops response makes sense. I thought the 1900 would be the same (as its the same design just smaller) however i wasnt sure.
Shame harrop/eaton havnt decided to make a 3000cc version![]()
FYI the rear gilmer set up is available in either 1.14:1 or 1.03:1 ratios.

Are you running a 50mm belt on the rear Gilmer set up or 2 x 25mm belts? I just received the kit that I ordered and it came with a 25mm belt.

it will be 2 * 25mm belts, they dont make em in 50s.
