Are the Calais Rims 20" or 19"s?
thats my point, after all this time they still cant make a SSV badge for the side rear!
I agree, it looks generally softer compared to VE although I guess that's where styling is going generally - away from the angled, straight-edged "geometric" look and more towards a "sculpted" look such as the new Mazda 6. It's a look which I think better suits the Calais than the SV6/SS (and again, makes me think I'd get a Calais next time, especially if there's definitely no manual wagons anymore).

I'm sure they have a chrome outline/edge but the actual vent is black. If not I guess Plasti Dip to the rescue!!
I do however agree with your original comment that they seem to have gone more effeminate or softer. That's why when I saw the black LHD SS/SSV in Pakenham the other Friday I wouldn't have even looked twice if I hadn't known.![]()
I'm glad they have changed the styling. I've thought the VE looked old fashioned when it was released in 2006, it seemed to have been released just as the angular look was dying and the more sculpted look was taking off. Compare the VE to the BA and FG Falcons, the styling of the VE has more in common with the 2002 BA then it does with the 2008 FG. Nowadays a VE just looks bloody old compared to even Hyundais. This isn't to say the VE doesn't have great proportions. I think it does but the style of the car is bland. The picture of the VE Calais and the VF Calais that was posted up here when the VF was unveiled showed how bland the VE really is.
Cheers, Matthew
I spent most of my money on unreliable cars and less reliable women, the rest I wasted.

I guess I'm hoping for something bold from HSV... without the over-the-top styling of the E2/E3 (which has actually grown on me a bit).
People should wait until they can touch the VF in person..I have no doubt they will impress.......
