I think its a marvel of a car, though it is several years too late, it should have been released earlier, nevertheless, it is a good way to say goodbye and send the Commodore a fond farewell

Just bought the latest Wheels.....they are also super impressed with the GTS....as I am.
Reading the article, and after having spoken to a few people this morning, it is becoming very obvious to me, that the new GTS does not simply have a BIG engine.....there appears to have been a MASSIVE amount of R & D/ Engineering gone into it.....ZL1 Camaro rear suspension "module", SIX separate coolers on the car, front air intake with ONE HUNDRED PERCENT more airflow etc, and I guess, a lot more.
A bargain for around $95K I reckon...particularly if ya look at 25th Anniv GTS prices?
It was mentioned that the engine, transmission & diff all have oil coolers, & that the cooling package on the car should besufficient for any track work the car may see.
I am waiting for the first drive "experience"?.....who will be the first of "us" to get a drive. I expect it to be pretty good. Cameron McConville advised (with a large grin on his face!) at the last meeting of the HSVOC that "we" would be pretty happy with the GTS...I reckon he'll be right.
Cheers, Pickles.

just out of curiosity, for those that put a deposit down on a gts, how much did the dealer ask for? or do you agree on an amount? ive never put a deposit down to order a new car so dont know.
pm me if you dont want to say here.
cheers dutch
I wonder if we will see the carbon ceramic disks fitted to the new Camaro Z/28 with the next update to the GTS? According to the below article they save about 12kg on the car for 396x36mm (f) and 390x32mm (r) disks. Perhaps they can be fitted aftermarket if we want?
Agreed Pickles, it good to see HSV leveraging off the R&D of the Camaro ZL1 in developing the GTS.

I spent most of my money on unreliable cars and less reliable women, the rest I wasted.

I was asked for $2K as a deposit, and a mate that bought a new car last Monday was asked for $500.
I would imagine it is whatever you are comfy with.
edit - mine was for the tourer, not on the new Supercharged bus, but as they are saying there is no vetting, then I assume normal rules apply.

Hi All
Have been looking forward to my 1st post.
I wanted to say that curiosity over the VF GTS has made me join this forum. The conservative look will definitely attract people like myself. I've never owned a Holden/HSV, but two years ago considered buying a senator. What turned me off was the quality of the auto box.
Is the manual in the VF GTS a carry-over from the previous model?
Is there any articles comparing the current auto trans with previous models?
I really like the look of the car, both inside and out.
I feel the deal breaker for me will be again the transmission. If anyone could comment on the manual transmission I would be most appreciative.
For the people based in Sydney, there is a HSV dealer up the road from where I live, in Artarmon. Has anyone dealt with them and was your experience a good one?
