Yeah, bugger buying crystal rock, I don't care what they say, it can't be worth the asking price.

Yes you can get good (great needs machine polishing) results with meguiars, you just need to do it alot more often then you would with a premium product. Thing with megs is its very well marketed so average guy thinks its the go and with how easy it is to use, they get hooked. Downside is all the marketing, sponsorship and fancy packaging has to be paid for by someone, hence the high cost for the quality (durability and results) of the product you get (off the shelf products).

I admit I have a couple of products from megs but its not anything you will find in any auto store, but has to be ordered from USA or a local detailing supplier.

    UPDATE

Washed and chamois car on the weekend, still looks freshly polished..

I contacted the seller of the product with some tough questions and my response is that the product will clearly outlast any of the conventional wax products and offers similar wet look results. But it is likley to need reapplication every 3-4 months, not years as some of the other sellers claim. Also claimed that under identical conditions no other wax would have the same durability as this formula.

At worst its a very good "winter wax" where its unlikely you will get too many opportunities to wax the car. Or if the car is outside in the elements for extended periods. IT looks great, if it maintains the look for 3-4 months, nothing wrong with that. Ill take that.

The car is looking amazing and its very slippery to the touch

My grandfather use to wash his car down with kerosene and it left his car shiny and smooth to touch.

It takes about 10 years for the paint to start flaking off.

Any decent wax should last 3 months before needing re application and a high quality paint protection/sealant will last 6-12 months before its effects wear off.

    Update...

Returned to my car today which was parked under a tree. Bird poop over half the bonnet. Don't know how long it was there.

When I got home simply wiped off, just come straight off.

This polish is starting to earn its stripes

Been a fair bit of rain round here. If it dries up tomorrow ill wash the car and see how the ptfe polish s holding up..

Car been outside every night, through three days straight of hard rain, some bird poop on bonnet and about 4 car washes..

Not many polishes will handle that. I'll see tomorrow

No polishes will provide protection as they're not designed to. A polish is abrasive and cuts the paint/clear to induce shine or gloss. You then protect this with either wax or sealant.

Most decent products will survive a full winter's abuse with the exception of some waxes which may need another application but that is more a case of wrong product for the purpose. I'm glad that you're happy with the product but you're beginning to sound like a salesman by making false claims.

I find it very confusing when people use the word "polish" but actually mean "wax/sealant".

That's a American thing, their marketing that calls abrasives and sealants both polish. I guess it's to simplify it for people who don't have much knowledge in the area. Worst brand for this in my opinion is meguiars.

Nope Im no salesman, just want you to enjoy what im enjoying.

This wax sealant looks the goods, washed the ls1 and gleaming.

I went to a family do, someone came inside and said shame on you to everyone with a dirty car.. because they saw mine and it was gleaming, everyone elses car looked terrible.

    UPDATE

Over 2 months now since polish, been outside every night. It's been bucketing with rain. Car has been washed regularly..

A quick 5 min wash today and it looks like its just been waxed. Incredible

I don't know why we cannot buy this stuff in Australia, nothing performs like it
