That is 3rd new HSV from the same dealer group and second from the same salesman. Merc offer a guaranteed value of the vehicle, HSV seem scared to do anything like that. I've got a good feeling the GTS is unlikley to crash in value like most previous HSVs at least but I'd be wary about a Gen F LS3-based HSV. The LT1 is going to be awesome. Have a look at how much torque it makes at only 1000rpm. Peak power will probably not be much higher but it makes a stack more torque all the way through the rev range. The little CLA should be (and feel) fast, it also makes 450Nm at only 2250rpm.
It's a shame the Merc doesn't come with a V8, i'd imagine quite a few more FPV/HSV buyers would be tempted by it if it had a V8, particularly at that price. Looks like a great car though.

The real performance bargain is going to be an LT1 based Clubsport...
    What do you guys reckon?

Should be a cracker, but i think it'll be on par performance wise the GT... Maybe a touch slower. Tech wise, it will make the Clubsport a great package. My lease is up next March, so i'm keen to see what new cars i have to pick from... Bit worried that the newer stuff won't be out, so i might get a 'gap' car and lease something different for a year... Very keen on the GTS though, but that'll take some convincing to the mrs. Having said that, she prefers the look of the HSV over FPV, so i might be in with a chance...

Edit: are the new HSVs going to be E85 compatible??

Love the new GTS, really wanted my next car to be black but seeing all the bits and pieces of black I would believe that the colour would detract from them, the white is really growing on me, with the black wheels and yellow calipers!! Just wish they hurry up and start to get them into the dealer so I can work out if my ass is gonna fit in those seats lol (6'10" 155kgs)

    anyone wanna buy a CV8Z :P

I called the dealer yesterday to confirm pricing since it was out in the media and I hadn't had a call. Seems at least one dealer didn't get anything official and had to call to confirm media pricing. Waiting now on confirmation of $. Also appears builds are a bit earlier than first thought and some GTSs will be available early Sept. What struck me as odd was how close the Senator and Grange are in pricing. Will steal some Senator sales I think. As for the LT1 I think I will settle into a Senator with the LT1 once I am over the GTS. Should only take about 16 years!

Been waiting a year + for this thing, now it has been shown around the place I am struggling...

I don't think so. The Senator is sports-luxury where the Grange is really just luxury. I doubt many that would purchase a Senator would be convinced to go to the LWB limo. They're very different cars.

Once again, Australia takes it up the ass. The Vauxhall is being sold for $86,600 AU and some Vauxhall's in the past have had more 'fruit' than the HSV's they've been based on.

Red with dark tint will look great I think and by a menacing site in a rear view mirror. Yellow highlights on the calipers and badges a bit like the Ferrari colour schemes.
One thing I don't like is the design of the red seats. I had an E1 GTS and the red and black seats looked fantastic. The huge red squares on the new HSV seats look crap IMO.
    The SSV seats look better.
