Had the chance to see them being built today and saw finished product in several colors (mostly r8sv). No gts.
I have been through the hsv factory before and over the past 2 and half years I had the opportunity to see the fpv factory (both production and engine) numerous times and it was much smaller (but still impressive considering).
I also sat in a sv r8 and had a good play with the interior. More so than when I was at the frequent buyers launch.
Impressed? Very!
The ride height is awesome IMHO. They looked good in all colors (red, black, orange, white, new grey color). Panel fit and finish is excellent and the interior is a fantastic place to be. I would go as far as saying world class.
What Holden/hsv have managed to accomplish is really praise worthy.
I think some context is required and it was something I reflected on whilst there. We are talking about small volume sales in comparison to other global manufacturers. Minute when looking at hsv volumes (approx 3600 cars per year). What they manage to achieve given this very small market and volume is really worth considering. And let me tell you, the passion of those involved is noteworthy.
It is no m5 or e63 or rs6. But bugger me, the gap has never been closer. And I am not easy to please.
Well done hsv. Now time to drive one.

George is the new grey the same colour ish as the old grey with some brown in it? I am sticking with white but this would be my second choice.
Any Senators on line George ?
Also I was told yesterday if you order a spare wheel for a HSV (in lieu of a can of srapy) you get a wheel but not a wheel that comes on the car standard !!!
So I am guessing like an E Series Clubby wheel or similar
P.S. I have ordered a spare for my Calais V and it is THE SAME wheel that comes on the car so I don't mind paying $350..that is great value for the wheel and a 19" Potenza.
Also another rumour is that the spare wheel will not fit in the GTS, it will need to sit on the floor ??? Doesn't sound right to me.

It seems to be a lot lighter than the evoke grey that was around previously, assuming you are talking about the Prussian steel colour. Do a search for "prussian steel commodore" and you can see some pics.
That looks like a story about nothing as the GTS was never going to be on the road in June.
I've heard September for GTS, so hopefully that is correct.

I reckon red is hard to beat.

When I dropped the deposit an age ago the delivery was late September/early October. First cars are supposed to be mid September, subject of course to the usual caveats. The spare wheel is the same as the last of the E3s and it is a 20" black wheel with mulitple big holes around the rim (the best I can describe it). Maybe some pics on the web. It isn't anything like any of the wheels on the cars. Given the GTS spare is more expensive than the others I though maybe another front wheel as per E1 but apparently not. No reason why it is more expensive either so maybe the dealer is wrong. 19s definately wont fit over the front brakes. I have a 'spare' W427 rim that I could use but will just order the spare and let the 427 rim go with the E2.
Hey Vulture the red looks alright................................ Good choice.
I haven't seen a VF in the flesh but the subtle body work does make it look smaller in the pics.
