Nice way to turn your new VF into a HQ!!
As the title suggest there has been some discussions about the Gen F GTS not having the spare wheel well and that if you want to order a spare wheel it will sit on the floor reducing boot space for the golf clubs....
I asked the question of the HSV Sales Manager at my dealership to see if he could clarify the situation..his reply was -
"I have been able to confirm if you are yet to know, there will be no spare in the GTS due to having a larger diff, so no wheel spot allocation for the spare wheel. They will come with an inflator kit, and there is an option to purchase a spare wheel, but it will sit on top in the boot, hence no boot space."
I then called him to ask well how is the spare secured? His reply was that they do not know yet as no details have come through from HSV yet.
His thoughts were that maybe there will be some sort of bracket set up like the VE's got when they had the LPG tanks fitted.
Watch this space.....

CLUBRED, which car is that in?

I think it's a BMW of sorts, 1 series?... can you get skinny's that would clear the brakes? BMW seems to have a few options, dunno about brake clearances.

The old 1970s Ford GT’s with optional long range fuel tanks had a cheap and nasty bracket welded to the boot floor behind the back seat.
It looks sh*t and takes up too much space.
In my opinion proper size spares are still a necessity for Australia’s long range drives and rough roads.
Let’s hope HSV can come up with a better solution for a car made for Australia.
.
For some of the places I go I need to have a full sized spare but the rest of the time goo and a pump would probably suffice. I am still waiting on the dealer to give me some more information.
I guess the main annoyance with all this is that HSV don't want to or can't give us details.
The amount of times I've had my spare out over the last few years has been very few, and that's with 500km country driving per week.
Last time I did a rim/tyre on our shit roads I did two at the same time so a spare didn't help!
I have the spare on order for my GTS but will probably take it out unless I'm on a long trip. Only issue is how much room the bracket etc take up at other times.
