Actually GS/GTs are making 370-390rwkws with just a tune these days...

These figures seem disappointingly low! Stock GS falcons make more stock for stock, forget about the GT!

Speaking of plates, if anyone in Vic is interested in some very special plates for their VF, I managed to score VF-001.

This is probably the exact reason why many of us who have ordered one have ponied up the money rather than by an SSV and put a blower on it. The promise of the 'overall package' is attractive. Something built from the factory with warranty, sustained performance without failing, suspension, brakes, electronics - all designed to work as a cohesive whole. I've learnt over the years how hard it is to get that from a modified "lesser" vehicle and for it to remain reliable long term. I'm always having to have one thing or other adjusted or fixed or replaced. You power up something not designed for it and another bit fails, then that bit is replaced and the next weakest in the chain fails etc. Which is not to say it never works out, my E2 Senator was a gem with intake, exhaust and small cam (should have kept it, it's on Carsales again too) Not appealing to me anymore as I pass the 40yo mark - just don't have the time or inclination.

The 'overall package' comment certainly will not be an excuse for lack luster performance. The GTS has to be genuinely quick, but reading how fast the CTS-V was around the 'ring with more weight and lesser brakes, I think it has a very good chance of being one the fastest 4 door sedans in the world easily - and not just in a straight line.

    We'll see. Pickles.
I'm sure it will be positive. Only concern I have will be that panel gaps etc are worthy of the price. I still have that deposit on the AMG and may yet add that as a separate little rocketship for every second day.

Quoted 81k drive for the A45. They took 1k off without trying. Can have this year (first allocation).

Doc, you will LOVE the GTS.

Cheers, they must be close to pricing for the CLA then too. It's going to be $5000 or so more expensive I hear. Any options on the A45? Are you getting one?

Ive had 3 WRX STI cars of various states of tune and I tell you the A45 reminds of that just a turbo 4wd STI the novelty of those has worn off. Yea its Merc but at the end of the day to me its just another EVO or STI and there bloody small inside the A series.

You've got to admit that it's a fair bit more sophisticated than most turbo AWDs out there.
Dual clutch box, quite a lot more power, much nicer interior, excellent fuel economy etc.

I know but you still get the feeling that its one of those turbo AWDs that teenagers lust after and you grow out of it after a while. lol

I'm hearing 87k for cla. A was priced as is but has a lot of standard stuff. I personally wouldn't add anything.

I need to drive the gts but am very happy with the gen f range thus far. I really enjoyed the long drive I had of the senator.

The two so far apart in everything so I honestly wouldn't, in my mind, compare the two.

That response is about as coherent as I can be I'm afraid.
