Wow, I thought the C63 was a 13sec car. It is damn fast. I'm assuming this is the performance pack version.

I had the window down and when it got above I think 3k? it was fairly loud. Even at idle it sounded nice and throaty.

    I saw a fellow forum member's tune/exhaust only C63 AMG do a 12.1 @ 120mph at Heathcote. Bloody quick!

Question Re: Supercharged HSV? - Part 2

C63 "times"? Well when ya get down to times with any sort of hi-po car, many things, driver, conditions etc etc can make a difference, however, I believe that AMG's "official" times for the C63 P.P. are 4.4., & 12.4.
    Cheers, Pickles.

That's great news. Sounds like an aftermarket exhaust won't be an immediate priority.

Re: Supercharged HSV? - Part 2

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Andrew at HSV. He is a gentleman and treated myself and, more importantly, my two eldest sons like royalty (and we certainly are not)!

I have been through the factory several times but it was the first time for my boys. My eldest wants to be an engineer and we got a brilliant access to the factory including in depth explanations and a no holes barred tour. Phil (the big kahuna) and Mark ( Operations Manager) gave him one on one time and encouragement, which was very much appreciated, and we also got a look at HRT workshop.

They have both been through the FPV factory a couple of times but this was on a different level according to them. My boys said that the interior was classy and elegant and they both noticed the difference in exhaust note from 325kw to 340kw set ups.

As if that wasn't enough, they got a really good look at the gts, both stationary and otherwise and some Tander signed hats and full gen f range posters.

Again, my sincerest gratitude. I know why I am a frequent buyer and more than likely will be back to the brand (Phil, your little digs did not go unnoticed).

And the gen f range looks great in all colors!

Did you see them laying down the keel for Vulture's GTS?

So any GTSs on the line yet, I was told none being made until end July.

About two months to go now, tedious this waiting stuff.

Not yet mike. August production. Then regular build each month.

I must say I have changed my mind on the rear spoiler. Still love the lip spoiler but big one is actually very nice.

The top of the big spoiler is colour coded isn't it? Hard to tell but when I was playing on the HSV site it looked as though the top strip was body colour. I've heard nothing more about mine other than it is in process.

Yes, the actual spoiler wing is colour coded, the underside and supports are black. Although it's hardly noticeable unless you've gone white as a body colour.
On the prussian steel model I saw today I walked around it and didn't realise until the guy pointed it out.

There was also a QLD member I saw at Willowbank and the car was 'very' quick with little mods, sounded awesome and took a fair bit of punishment without a problem.

Saw a white C63 tear through Spring Hill last night. Was very loud (probably too loud for daily use but sounded incredible) thought it was some custom old school muscle car until I saw it.

Yeah, they do make a good "noise" don't they....AMG have got it just right....I can't imagine why anyone would want to change it...but they do.
On the subject of HSV, I also was at the HSV factory last week, and I can simply concur what a great guy Andrew is...and yes, the facility is pretty impressive, very organized, and the amount of "Hands On" work that goes into making what becomes an HSV, is remarkable.
I reckon it could be very late Sept or early Oct before someone takes delivery of GTS.
Whilst I was there I drove a manual R8 340, VERY nice. Of course I'm (aren't we all) very enthusiastic about the GTS, but Phil mentioned to me that the new Senator was the best car they'd ever built.
From what I've seen, I reckon "Gen F" is going to be very well received, and from my point of view, it's fantastic to see an Aussie company making a great product.
    Cheers, Pickles.
