    Declining Dollar.....Imported Vehicle Pricing?

I wonder how the decreasing value of the dollar will affect imported vehicle pricing like the A45 AMG, indeed any AMG, Audi, Fiat, VW etc etc etc.
Have any of you guys who are in the market for an import been advised of a price rise yet....I think the A45 is priced at around $76K....I wonder where that will go, particularly as some buyers could be waiting over 6 months for their car...it will be interesting to see what the delivery price will be at that stage....the likes of Range Rovers etc etc will also be affected I would think.
    All this could help Holden?
Any feedback as to any price increases mentioned to you?
    Cheers, Pickles.

I haven't heard anything new about the CLA 45 AMG as yet. Although, I don't think they have settled on a final price yet.

    personally..???

I would LUV to see price hikes up to 15-20% on all imported vehicles coz of the currency movement
(will save the Rudd or MONK guvmint embarassment of further job losses )

will it save Ford..? No according to one of the top level FORD honchos ( read this weeks GO AUTO..FORD OZ were screwed by the yanks )

will it save Holden?..maybe but I would like to think so

will it save manufacturing in Oz..? I hope so coz if it doesn't there is only so many holes we can dig

ps.. I work in an Australian manufacturing company with off shore subsidiaries and we hope the dollar stays south of 95c

All indications tell us that 85c is around where it will finish and sit there for quite a while.

Fuel price just maxxed out....excuse was the recent lower value of the AUD.
k so what happens when a camel dies and it gets back to 75c where tradionionally it resides (long term average).

So, you reckon there may be a bit of "fat" there?...I noticed that M.B. had a "special" on recently where you could order the Performance Pack Option on C63, normally around $11K I think, at no cost,...so maybe there is a bit of a "margin" there.

A45 is 83k drive. Then you apply corporate discount of 1800.00. Then you ask for another 1k off. Just don't ask them to cost up their finance with guaranteed buy back based on klm.

Delivery is out to October but a car can be driven to my home for a test drive in late August.

Higher fuel prices will have repercussions on all consumer prices via transport and manufacture that uses fuel. So not so good.
When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.

That in itself is an absolute ****ing joke. Dollar is over parity for over a year, prices stay the same, the moment the dollar drops, well look prices are up!
