And you didn't get the tinters to fix it because ?
I had the ute tinted yesterday and it looks like the boys didnt secure the cable to the internal door handle. So my small task this afternoon was
fixing this issue. Tools needed = phillips screw driver for 2 screw at the bottom of the door, torx bit to remove 1 screw in the arm rest hole
(under the rubber insert) and last a 7mm socket to remove 3 bolts.
I started with the 2 lower phillips screw

Then removed the rubber insert in the arm rest to expose the torx bit

next theres a small plastic cover behind the inside door handle, a finger nail prying it from the top will see this pop off
Now back to the arm rest. In the case of the ute there is a black plastic feature that sits in the arm rest. This needs to be pushed from the outer
edge back in towards the door, and try to get your fingers in the gap and pull out the door skin. It will suddenly pop the left side out leaving the far
right hanging on. This is sorted by levering your finger in the void and pushing up as far under it as you can, its a tension clip holding it down into the slot
to the far right

Once out, unclip your window switch plug.
This now exposes the 7mm bolts which you will now take out
This now leave the door skin free to remove. It peels away from the bottom easy enough but 2/3 of the way up there is a plastic locator pole that
is a tight fit. When thats free pry the remaining clips straight out horizontally from the door so not to break the clips , then its a matter of unhooking
it from the top of the door, exactley the same way as previous models.
Now stop yourself from yanking the skin off as you still have to unclip 1 last cable ( I didnt as I found my problem but others will want to remove it to complete audio installs etc..). No pics as I couldnt hold the camera and take a pic but you'll work that part out.
So thats it really this is what the internal mechanism for the door lever consists of. Slightly different to what im used to in other models.

The blue section slots into the cable retainer on the inside of the door skin and once it hits home theres 2 prongs to lock it in place.
Well thats about it really.Obviously reverse the above to reinstate.I hope some of you get a use out of my findings.

Great write up with pics, is what this forum is lacking for some time!
@jkgmh
1.Because it was sunday when I realised the problem and with my compulsive disorder it would have played on my mind.
2.It was a 10 min job.
Thanks Micks. I did wonder if it was worth doing a write up being a relatively easy job but then I thought not everyone has the confidence
to do basic work on there cars but with step but step instructions people may feel like they can tackle them instead of paying someone to fix it.
Whether it's an easy job or not, I think at least a few people (myself included) will take some comfort from someone having done it and noted the steps down. Thanks!
you should have put door trim. sh@t i thought you were going to say you reskinned the outside of your door. thats a hell of a d.i.y. job.
cheers
