    Buying a new VF Calais V...

    Hi all,
    Posting this on behalf of my mate. He just placed an order for a VF Calais V wagon V8. This is his first new car, and it should arrive in a few weeks. Basically he was just wondering if there are certain things he should look out for when he picks up the car, before handing over his hard earned money? He just wants to make sure everything works before he drives away, any certain things we should pay special attention too?
    Any advice or help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    The technical faults etc can be fixed under warranty...

    A few things that I would be confirming:

    Check the vehicle model spec and colour etc is correct
    check all of the options have been fitted/supplied
    perform a thorough inspection to ensure there are no marks or defects to the paint and all exterior and interior finishes as these can be disputed by the dealer after you drive out of the dealership;
    check the body work under the lower parts of the car for scrapes from transport or hoists or kerbs etc

    otherwise good luck and enjoy the new ride...

    Thanks everyone for the advice, I had a read through the thread that was mentioned. With regards to the climate control issue, I guess the best thing to do is get the car up to temperature and see if the heating/cooling is working properly from all vents?
