I remember seeing a W427 parked out the front of the Holden dealer in Orange for a number of days when I was in town, I presume the dealer principal owned it. I have also seen a W427 driving up the Bruce Hwy. In the other thread I think someone mentioned the W427 re-painted in Lambo green was crashed and written off.

Can anyone confirm that the VIN shows the car with an LS3? I know that is what they were initially built with before HSV pulled them out and fitted the LS7.

That's great stuff Marty, thanks. A few questions. I take it the cars were numbered from #0001 to #0137? I take it #0427 was the original Melbourne Motor Show car (because of the build date and the colour Panorama Silver)? What is M202 car? Seems an odd build number and the build date seems to indicate it was one of the early ones built.

Some of this data cross checks with my list, and we now have the VIN for car 25 and a few other matches.

Hi Matthew,
#0427 was the car ordered by the car collector known as 'Chooka' from Cairns, and I presume #M202 was a pilot car. Also check some of the ads listed in your 1st post, they have pics of the cars HSV build plates (tip : on the HSV build plate the tag # is the last 6 digits of the VIN). Happy hunting for your database, I know my Monaro one keeps me busy (12,000 VIN's down 1900 to go..............!).

Are you sure Chooka's #0427 wasn't also the Melb show car? Are they perhaps the one and the same? The reason I'm suspicious is that the build date you have in your spreadsheet is 11 Jan 2008 for Car #0427 and Car #0005 is 5 June 2008, that's a big gap. The Melb Motor show was in Late Feb/early March 2008 so I'm inclined to believe that the car built in Jan being in the correct Panorama Silver was used as the show car. Perhaps HSV later sold it to Chooka?

By the way I'll PM you my Monaro details, built 01/2002 S1 CV8 manual Phantom/Redhot interior.
