Ahh that'd do it, was wondering how you could have missed it.

Interestingly Active's managed 464rwhp out of a stock GTS, and nearly 500rwhp tune only. Be interesting when one of these Harrop cars ends up at a workshop that can do stock for stock on the same dyno.

I can't stand all these people saying 500rwhp "tune only". He hasn't finished tuning the thing, just tweaked it in the short time frame that he had available. I'm confident it will make a fair wack more when he's finished with it... well stage one anyway!

I could understand your annoyance if the poster above said "ONLY 500rwhp with a tune", as such implying that it was bad, but he didn't. Saying "500rwhp tune only" is just saying it ran that number straight out of the box with no mods other than a tune.

It's not so much the reply here (that's more the straw that broke the camel's back) but I'm seeing it all over the place, especially from the Ford fanclub that are comparing it to the Coyote. Of course saying it's not making anywhere near the power that a tuned 5.0 makes, when in reality, this thing had done all of 40kms before it hit the rollers and only had a very short time spent on it.... far from the end result.

I wouldn't expect much more than 500rwhp anyway. They make around 550rwhp with a pulley change in the states and their dynos read higher than ours too. They need a 2.3l blower like the ls9 to see big gains

    Re: Harrop Clubby

    The article says..

"It has fitted a bigger supercharger to the Clubsport’s 6.2-litre V8 than the one that comes standard on the HSV GTS. The result is a car with more power and torque for $25,000 less than the HSV GTS.
The Harrop supercharged kit costs $12,500 “drive-in, drive-out” to use the aftermarket parlance, which includes a driveline warranty backed by Harrop for the remainder of HSV’s new-car warranty.
Incredibly, Harrop has managed to extract 500kW and 900Nm (the HSV GTS is rated at 430kW and 640Nm) without having to “crack the engine open” to modify the internals.
Excuse the tech jargon for a moment but the power jump is in part because the standard HSV Clubsport’s 6.2-litre V8 has a higher compression ratio (10.7:1) than the HSV GTS’s 6.2-litre V8 (9.1:1) – and the Harrop supercharger has a bigger rotor group which can pump 2.3 litres of air per revolution versus the GTS’s 1.9 litres."

In my opinion it sounds like a very good deal with plenty of scope for much more power

On top of that. The R8 looks better than the GTS.

    Re: Harrop Clubby

If a gts was only about power then this car would be one thing. But it still misses out on a lot of gear the gts has. You could get that power out of a gts quite easily and have a far better car

Ouch, I was only quoting what they put on Facebook:

    .

Today we where first to receive deliverer of VF GTS.
Back to back runs it made 464 and 467 rwhp,in its stock form.

A quick tweak saw nearly 500 rwhp with just a tune.

Watch this space as we carry out some power up grades for your needs.
500rwhp from a tight car essentially stock is nuts. I can see your annoyance though, but comparisons were always going to be made. From what I saw the most the other side got "tune only" without any mods (no injectors etc) was about 330rwkw? If so this is a solid 40rwkw better off, off the bat.

Ahh no. There have been stock GT's run 330rwkw and 400rwkw with minimal work

The gts is blessed with an intercooler from factory. The GT isn't. Add one and there is not much between them

Shows how good the Miami engine is. Lacking 1.2l to the gts but keeps up with it quite well

Bang for buck. It is a better car. IMO. But id still have a gts

It's not happy. It's just that it's a hub dyno

Here you go mate 332rwkw stock

    http://www.performancegarage.com.au/...cooler-install

Note that a tune and intercooler adds ~100rwkw
